August 4, 2024: Hi Glenda! I recently got some of the Mandala String from Lion Brand’s 4 for $20 sale. I picked the color way Soul and awaited its arrival. It came yesterday and I couldn’t wait to use it, but I noticed right off the bat: Lion Brand fixed the yarn 🧶😮. I watched so many videos on this yarn and couldn’t get my hands on it for a long time to purchase but I had been in HL and I did feel and examine it. It WAS thicker at the time, but now it is a true 1 or fingering weight. My ball bands say this updated MString was manufactured April 2024. I also noticed LB added 5 new colors to the MString line, Soul is one of the new color ways added to the 8 in this video. I know it is a lot to ask, but could you please do a comparison video with the MString you showed in this video, to the newer version? If you do the comparison video, you may have to go to LB directly to purchase the newer run. I think HL will still have 2023 run MString and that defeats the purpose. I would do a video myself but I don’t have any of last years MString, having just purchased it on July 26. 🤷🏽‍♀️😅. I would be most interested in your thoughts and feedback on this yarn being “fixed”. Thank you in advance if you do the update and thank you for your time if you choose not to do the update. On a different note: It was so awesome to see Cody out yarn shopping FOR HIMSELF! 🥰👏🏽 I did wonder if he would join his grandmother in crocheting and he has! So cool really 🥰 My grandson is 4 and autistic but he loves yarn and always tries to mimic my hand movements when he sees me crocheting. I am hoping this means he will be open to learning from me when he is older. At 4, he just can’t sit still long enough to absorb the information 😂. The yarn is really pretty Glenda, I don't really like to crochet with such fine yarn, my hands have a problem with it.

Have used that ice cream yarn many times and it is beautiful after it's worked up. I always get so many compliments on the baby blankets that I make with it!!

My opinion is if you take that color out is you would be wasting the yarn... unless you really hated a certain color i would just leave it!

I bought a couple skeins of the string yarn in each color and was planning on randomly marling the colors together to make a scrappy blanket. I thought maybe I was going to use three colors together but depending on how it works up maybe 2 will be good.

I would wait to see when you get to the gray to see how it looks, and you can always do one row of it and take it out if you hate it. It seems to have a purple tint to it. Also, the yarn may soften when it's washed.

Balled swatch band needs to be fixed. Country is beautiful. Jazz is pretty would like it in 5 weight for a handbag. Moose Tracks is awesome will go perfect with the solid pinks I have. I have big question: I want to make a handbag, I would like your opinion on what types of yarn weight to use, and a pattern stitch that's thick (no holes). Thank You Glenda 😃
