Hey guys, Happy New Year!
I'm kicking off the new year with new workflows, a brand new timer which turns on my oven for me (wahey, no more 3am market wake up calls!) and some more self care as a small business owner.
Hope you enjoy x
Timer details: it's really important you speak with a registered electrician as if not done well it's a potential fire risk to your kitchen and micro bakery.
Socket: 14539165
Timer: 22756810
Plug: 20736742

If ever you feel like you’re not expanding or improving, you should put yourself in the shoes of a viewer of your videos. You’d be amazed at how your progress could be plotted on an ever-increasing upward slope, whether it’s services you’re providing, community togetherness you’re spawning, great food (including special dietary considerations), employing others, growing the business. I’m so proud of you, and don’t even know you personally.

Meditation is like taking a shower for your brain. Like brushing teeth. You do it everyday. That’s what I tell my yoga students. Hugs!

You’re doing great, Lily! Thanks for sharing all these updates with your mico bakery, it’s fascinating to follow along as you grow. Growing slowly is so important, so as not to get burntout. I find that going on walks regualry, as well as editating and exercise rlly help with mental health and limitng / managing stress - especially in the moments when we don’t want to do it. The popups I did the secod half of last year where exhausting, and althought it got my business / name out a bit locally, which I’m extremely grateful for, it was a lot of work. Now I bake at home until I am ready to get a larger space, and that seems to be working just fine so far. :)

Don’t stress! My grandfather owned a dry cleaners and he used to say, “Don’t worry! Everything will come out in the wash!”

Maybe think about outsourcing SOME of your deliveries to bike couriers / airtaskers on bikes and keep your core "company" route pretty static. Might make life a bit simpler. Think about what's important to your customers and to you. Transport time wastage probably isn't a big one for either. Small business is hell and fun and hell. Keeping the "small" is important, but you need to stay sane as well, so off-loading tasks (like you're doing) is the only answer. Every now and again do a guest spot delivering stuff yourself. People will love that more than every day.

So lovely to have found your channel Lily. I very much enjoy following your journey. I noticed in one of your earlier videos that we share a surname and now hearing that your father is from Belfast, as my husband is makes me wonder there’s a relation. It would be something you’re family is related to James (son of Lawrence and Ellen) McGeough.

Greetings from San Francisco, CA (yes, where Tartine is located). I think you are doing a great job of explaining your project to of us bread lovers (and bakers). It seems the micro-bakery phenomenon has simply exploded around the world. A few things in a stream-of-consciousness format: Try standing back about a foot or two from the camera. It will allow a better view of what is behind you. On the tealoaf, try experimenting by removing or adding various spices like nutmeg and all spice. Vary the fruit a bit, more expansive by nicely tart are dried cherries. Some like it stronger, some less. Mess around with the ingredients on that one. Also the dough, if tweaked a bit, can be used to make amazing cookies! If deliver once or twice a week, isn't that like running and exercise? Also, I infer your kitchen is in your family house? Who all lives there and do they mind the racket from the kitchen at 5am? :)

Hi Lily, I'm the owner of RM2020, unfortunately the oven couses my electricity to trip (circuit breaker) this happens after 15 min of baking. Have you ever experienced this?

hello! no I haven't ever had issues with electricity tripping. Have you contacted an electrician or Campbell to discuss? x
