Funny how Alex's last words coincides with the Eighth Doctor being the first Doctor regeneration to experience the Time War.

This just confirms to me that timezones don't exist in the Whoniverse and that they probably don't because at the meeting where they were invented the Doctor said they were dumb and explained a more reasonable way to prevent the trains from colliding.

@@PunkySpunky On the torchwood side Jack returns to Torchwood Cardiff to learn that all his teammates are dead, killed by their leader Alex. Alex claims it was a mercy as a medallion gave him a vision of the alien threats to come in the 21st century claiming “that’s when everything changes. And we’re not ready”. He then kills himself but not before leaving torchwood Cardiff’s leadership to Jack. On the Doctor side the newly regenerated 8th Doctor is strapped to a gurney by the Master inside a room in the TARDIS where he attempts to drain his life force using the eye of harmony. This ends with the doctor being saved by his new companion grace and the master falling into the eye. Both of these events occur in the final minute of 1999.
