Shane. I have the perfect solution for you to reduce the starbucks consumption. When my wife was getting starbucks everyday, I wanted to somehow put a stop to that and save some money, so I bought a $2500 espresso machine instead. If you get one of those and add a switchbot to it, boom, it's "for the channel"! Then Caroline can make her own drinks every day, and after 416.66 days, you will break even. Then it's pure savings from there!

You have the best HomeKit content by far. Thank you. Do you have any suggestions for setting up a butler button (my words). My mom is very sick and I am staying each night with her. I don’t need one of those panic buttons, but it would be very helpful if she could push a button and my phone or watch alerted me that she needs help with something like going to the bathroom. Thanks.

Wow, thank you for answering all three of my questions. I figured you would have only used one for your video. I really appreciate Caroline taking the time to answer them and I am looking forward to seeing her more on your channel. My wife listened in and was in agreement with a lot of what your wife had to say. Our smart home journey (my wife and I) was pretty similar as far as experiences go to yours. My Wife definitely has a love/hate relationship with Siri, and when I started she insisted that everything would still be able to be controlled manually. Our daughter was grown and gone when I started but she uses a little smart home stuff herself as she rents. Mainly she uses cameras and a few smart plugs. I've been trying to get her to do more, but it is hard as she is still a renter. My biggest issues were with my in-laws when they would come to visit. They do not like automations doing stuff for them so I have set up a smart plug called "Guest Mode" that when I turn it on, it turns off the automations in the Guest Suite for the most part. Also, they would turn off lamps at the lamp switch which would kill power to my smart bulbs. Love the content and have throughly enjoyed the journey over the last several years and I look forward to seeing even more great content in the future. I'm also hoping you will have Macy back on the channel again in the future as well. I really enjoy hearing the perspectives of your daughter, as well as your wife. You might even consider getting others on to share their experiences as well, like your mom, dad, granddad, and neighbors. Have them share their experiences of smart home tech; what they liked, disliked, any challenges they have had with it, and what has made their life easier because of smart home tech. This might give us ideas and insights on how to get others that are not enthused by smart home tech on board with using smart home tech.

We have seasons in SC for sure. Especially in the Upstate. Less so as you get down in the Midlands and Low Country.

Shane, I saw your door sensor for the shower door in that it opens and it turns the light on but I was curious if you close the shower door does it turn the light off? I’m thinking of a bathroom toilet door doing the same thing I’m kind of stumped as to how that would work. Thanks in advance.

Question: if I change my wi-fi PW, will all my smart stuff automatically get the updated? Or will I have to go into every devices settings (smart switches, plugs, lights, sensors, and update the password?
