One thing to keep in mind about NYC compared to other US cities -- New Yorkers are busy hustlin' all the time because the city is so expensive. Everyone is also raised to mind their own business. This is why if you mind your business and don't bother anyone, you really will be ignored in nearly any neighborhood you go in. Meanwhile, people in poorer, slower cities like Detroit or St Louis -- they're bored!!! and there aren't that many people. THEY WILL FUCK WITH YOU
@blackanarchicreacts9 ай бұрын
You just talking to speak man. I'm from Detroit and lived in NY for 9 years now. Detroit is a hustlin ass city, always has been, and this is known throughout the Midwest. It's plenty of young dumb ass kids in NY who do nothing but shoot TikToks of them getting sturdy, rob people for pennies, and gangbang. Gangbangin is not even a part of Detroit culture, most the violence even among gangs has to do with money. I lived in all kind of hoods in the Midwest, NY, and the South, and the one universal is if you mind your business and don't carry yourself like a victim niggas is not gon bother you, nine times outta ten. Chill out with the NY exceptionalism, it's a bunch of bored ass bums out here too.

I was a Bronx kid and so glad I got out. The kids of these neighborhoods do not have the support to become better people in society but instead are so influenced by the worst of their culture that they all have lost the meaning of their culture. People now associate their culture with crimes and not what the generations of the past worked so hard to build, Black kids need more structure and education. The fact is if the Black communities does not unanimously work hard to abolish these acts then this cycle will forever continue, no one wants to raise a family like this. No one wants to live like this, it's bad enough to not receive support from the government so why make your own hood a war zone? I will never take my child back to The Bronx, I want the best for the next generation. More education means they have more of an opportunity to change this country.
@DB-1159 ай бұрын
Yeah i used to live over by White Plains rd & 225th i seen kids move in the area who have potential to be positive assets on society just get absorbed by the toxicity. Once your kids are 9-10 you gotta get out that area. It's great for them until then because they see the f*cked up part of society & become grateful for opportunities afterwards but those mid to later adolscent years are high risk.

Most of the violence is in heavily concentrated in particular parts of the city and among gangs, drug dealers). If you're not involved in those activities and not going to areas you'd have no reason to go to, then NYC is as safe as any big city. You don't tell a tourist to go to Brownsville Brooklyn they would be traveling in places like Times Square or other touristy areas downtown etc.. The areas you named the only people who should be there are people who live/work there or have family there only. Beyond that, situational awareness will get you a long way, use common sense, be aware of your surroundings and you'll be fine.

Far Rockaway was one of the most feared neighborhoods in New York... Queens in particular, in the 90's and early 2000's... but recently due to gentrification and the Jewish take over... Its not that bad

😂What does boarded up buildings have to do with anything? In fact No boarded up buildings means more people!! live in these neighborhoods and a lot of those people hang out on the streets and can get into all types of trouble.

Y'all n*&&#z bug me out . Only in New York City do you hear about this Queens got all them houses so it's " suburban " so it must be soft. Meanwhile in other cities like Detroit, Milwaukee, Kansas City, Houston, Compton , Dallas , Los Angeles etc their hoods are nothing but houses yet they never get called suburban. And those cities are rough as f*ck. But for some reason Queens gets tagged with this " suburban label . Just because an area has houses don't automatically means it's suburban. Queens is actually very urban even in the parts dominated by houses. Because urban areas are determined by the population density per square mile. The threshold for an area to be deemed urban is at least 2213 people per square mile. Queens has a population density of nearly 25 thousand people per square mile in the entire borough. Which makes Queens more urban than Chicago, DC , Philadelphia, Detroit, Houston, Los Angeles, San Francisco in fact Queens is the 4th most densly populated county in the entire United States! Only it's NYC counterparts: KINGS county ( Brooklyn ) , BRONX county ( The Bronx ) and NEW YORK county ( Manhattan ) have higher population densities therefore are more urban than Queens. But Queens is still very urban. Different parts are more urban than others but the entire Borough whether it's buildings or houses is urban. South Jamaica, Springfield Gardens, Hollis , Saint Albans are dominated by houses however the population density of those areas of Queens are between 13 thousand and 17 thousand people per square mile which again is way above the 2213 people per square mile threshold. The houses in Queens are much too tightly situated next to each other with many 2 and 4 apartment houses with basement apartments as well making these neighborhoods very packed and crowded. Go to deep Long Island, Westchester and Northern New Jersey and Connecticut to see what true suburban areas really look like. Y'all dudes gotta get out the projects get off your block. Brooklyn got areas that's mostly houses too. Just kuz you see areas with houses don't automatically mean it's the suburbs.
