The achingly sad truth is Alex just has to make every comment every interaction every observation reflect back on himself - - -and constantly interrupted David - - - - and repeatedly used the phrase "so pretty" and "beautiful" over and over and over again when there are so many brilliant descriptive words in the world Sadly Alex has a way of looking perpetually peeved petulant and preoccupied with himself when interacting with others If David should allow his other home to be viewed please please may he alone be able to do so

Words are so poor to describe this home. It's beyond exquisite!! I love Alex, he is such a sweet person, he has such a unique way to describe his feelings and impressions of people, of spaces. David is so talented, so grounded, so modest, a true artist of his craft!! Totally enjoyed this video!! May both enjoy many creative years!! Last but not least, I adore their dogs!!

This is an absolutely gorgeous home! The neutrals and touches of black are perfection and so is the shade of white on the walls. Alex is exactly right about painting some antiques or vintage items...give them a facelift! OMG the kitchen is genius!

I am impressed with the loft and humble spirit of both gentlemen. I am inspired, going to goodwill and purchase the classic shaped furniture and the painting begin. I will not allow the lack of a "big" budget stop me!!!

Watching the two of them interact while they toured Mr. Monn's home was more interesting and entertaining than anything on television today. I was watching this late at night, and those sandwiches made me instantly hungry, with no hope of matching them. Great fun, and I took away so many helpful pieces of information that are already influencing some design choices for my home. Thanks to both gentlemen, and to Homeworthy for producing this.

David Monn's humility and sense of being blessed combined with his great talent is so encouraging. As a low-income person who has always loved art and beauty and is living in an 860 sq. ft. condo, I watch a lot of home tours on KZfaq. I do not watch such home tours because I dream of having a huge place, owning expensive things, or giving people the impression that I am "successful." I watch them for inspiration and because I like to see different places. So often, I see huge obnoxious mansions designed, possibly, to impress with their size that are devoid of taste and meaning; they are cold, stone monuments to their owners' egos and professional success. But Alex and David are the kind of guys I'd be happy to spend an evening with. Clearly, they love beauty as it was meant to be loved. I wish them both the very best and, even though I am working class, I do not begrudge them but celebrate them. It is nice to see good people having real prosperity.

@@karabuller Awe, thanks! It is my open mind that gets me into trouble, LOL! But I have been blessed (I really do believe blessed), and why should I begrudge people when they, too, recognize they have been blessed and did not get those things dishonestly? It would be like being mad at someone for winning a lottery. There are lots of really crappy wealthy sociopaths whose addiction to power and wealth ruin countless lives; those are the people I object to. But these two guys seem to be just nice people who worked hard and got a little piece of heaven on earth for their efforts. And even though my piece is much smaller, I appreciate it! Things don't have to be expensive to look expensive, but they also don't have to look expensive to look nice. So much can be done with just paint colors, right proportions, arrangement and cleanliness. I would put my cheap place up against some of these mansions any day. And I have peace of mind (something many rich people obviously don't have). Anyway, thanks! May your home always be your sanctuary!

@@timward3116 also i will say it's great they share their style and beauty on this site - i'm sure it helps their sales numbers and it's not entirely selfless - but they don't have to be giving us all this wonderful free entertainment and information! and i agree: beauty and style doesn't require a lot of money (obviously it really helps) but some tulips, a clean apartment and a beautifully framed family photo - that goes far for the spirit and the home. enjoy your space!

David Monn has a beautiful apartment. It looks like a museum of Greek/ Roman antiquities. His furniture is a mix of different styles- contemporary and very classical. His wing backed chairs in the livingroom are beautiful. I love the way they look like melted popsicles to me with the solid seats. And they look comfortable. I love the Japanese chinoserie tea table. I love the pullout shelves on the book cases. Now, I will have to do this to my home library. Very creative. I love the 3 large wall panels in the dining room. I think he said it was by Hiroyuki Matsumayo. He says the panels are made of many, many, many photos. A photograph??? Wow. The artist wanted to do homage to Turner and Freidrich. Abstract at its best. Beautiful!!! I love his dressing room. It is very organized. And his shoes! I love his kitchen stove. You can do a whole lotta cooking in this kitchen. Attention to detail is definitely in this apartment. What a beautiful apartment you have- Thank you for sharing with us.

I know you can only make so many episodes of this quality because you have to have the hosts. Plus there’s a commendable democratic element to showing houses of all kinds around the country, which can be interesting, sometimes. But letting people listen in on this level of conversation about design between interesting thoughtful pros at the top of their fields in exquisite surroundings is special and unique on KZfaq. I hope Homeworthy can keep creating more content like this.

Breathtaking! This apartment is beyond exquisite! And don't get me wrong, I want to say this in the most respectful way: I feel like I fell in love with the humble personality of Mr. Monn. This gentlemen is so serious and thoughtful and has a taste one could only dream of. And he is down to earth and full of love and passion about everything he is surrounded with. Wonderful. I wish Mr. Papachristidis would have let him talk more and explain more. I like him quite well, and he seems to really be a good friend of the homeowner, but in this case he interrupted too soon and too much. I could have listen to Mr. Monns explanations for an hour more. And yes, I also directly thought of Turner, when I saw this beautiful art. Incredible! If I would see this at an exhibition, I feel like I could sit in front for hours and just watch and watch and watch.......This was a fantastic tour and I thank you very much for showing. Wish them both - and of cause their dogs too- all the best, sending greetings from Germany 🍀😊

I wish we could have seen a zoomed in view of it, showing the individual photos, and how it is lit. I think David would be an amazing person to have a conversation with. ❤

I would love if David just did the tour on his own. Alex made me uncomfortable for some reason. He kept invading David’s space and was a bit too much touchy, feely and wanted to make it about him. David handled it well because the man has so much class.

His Apartment reminds me very much of a former boss of mine, the late Judy Niedermaier, apts in Chicago. Judy exuded style, she could mix any style and make pure design magic. Im very fortunate to have worked for her and knowing her.

Amazzzzzzzing! Alex you are correct ----please tell David he can wash his sheepskins in the washer, air dry then gently brush out the curls with a special sheepskin wire brush. I do it all the time.
