Would think that the Mets will sign Alonso to a long term deal. It will depend largely on the guys in their lineup offering him protection. Lindor, J.D. Martinez, etc. Otherwise teams will just pitch around Alonso. 500 will be tough to reach.

Judge could possibly hit 300 this year if he plays the entire season. If Pete hits 35 on average for the next 9 years he'll have over. He'd be 37-38.

I can see him playing 8 to 10 more years, averaging high 40s in homers the next 4 or 5 years, then tapering off some. 300 more shouldn't be a problem.

Man, the Bravos seem kind of shaky but are still winning games. Acuña, Riley, and Olson aren’t even swinging the bat well and I can’t wait until we get Murphy back. I am enjoying the season though.

Riley's last couple of games he's had some great contact without the results. Looks like he's ready to go on a run. Hopefully the other guys find their swing soon. LET'S GO BRAVES!!!

@@bryantsturgis3333 I see that. Those three are very high-level talents and they’ll figure it out. I just hope they don’t revert back to the free swinging, home run or bust mentality. This team is too talented, to have that type of mental or philosophical weakness.

I love this show... I agree with your power rankings and let's go Dodgers baby. Been a faithful fan ever since my mom introduced me to this sport. She always been a big Dodger fan and she had Fernandomania back in the 80s. Much love from Modesto, Ca. I know, I know it's giants territory but there's many Dodger fans up in Northern Ca. 😎

He gave up and earned run off a homer this week and was less dominant than kirby who gave up 0 runs and struck out a lot more batters. Not sure what you’re confused about.

@@mattadams7558 yes, Fried's last start was better than Kirby's last start, but within a week (his last 2 starts) Kirby pitched 12 scoreless innings - didn't allow a run in either start. Fried's last two starts when taken together (14 innings, 3 runs) were superb for sure, but not as good as Kirby's. It just depends what time period you're looking at. In this case, Ben mentioned Kirby's last 2 starts, so that appears to be the qualification used here.

@@mattadams7558 Again - our Team of the Week stats go from Sunday to Saturday. So for this week the stats that counted were April 21st to April 27th. Next week, we will be doing Team of the Month which will be for the month of April.

Definitely like what I see out of the Guardians to this point. They are not only getting on base, but manufacturing runs consistently. Something they did not do at all of last season. And the strange thing is that their starting pitching (perceived to be their biggest strength) has been solid, but not spectacular. Bullpen has been good with Clase leading the way as a topnotch closer.

Alec Bohm is amazing in defense too! I’m a Phillies fan but was never a Bohm fan (personality wise) but he needed this, especially because of how awful he was all postseason.

There is no way Pete gets to 500. I see him as a similar player to Ryan Howard who started falling off in his early 30s.

Ryan Howard missed a couple of seasons because the Phillies kept him in AAA due to Jim Thome. He was also injured in October 2011 & it took a lot of time to get him back right. There’s some context behind his numbers

Will it? Orioles are quite a bit more injured than the Yankees and yet the orioles have pretty much kept the same exact record. The orioles are better as player come back you’ll see the O’s sprint ahead

Wow! The stark omission of Mookie Betts casts a pitch black shadow of doubt on your insights & credibility is the first casualty of your comical blunder. He's batting like .391 not for the week, but for the entire SEASON! Are you seriously gonna tell me there's ANYONE better in MLB whose performance over the last week or any 7 day stretch compares, much less exceeds what he has done from the jump & continues to do this season. It's more than just a casual oversight. It's a blatant snub that is for all intents & purposes, unforgivable.

@FlippinBatsPod Right... for ONE week. Anyone can be hot for a 5 or 6 game clip. What a player has to do over a 30-game sample size in order to compile a .391 avg. truly worthy of mention compared to anything done in the course of one week is the point of my comment. It's not even debatable. After all, the players mentioned in your list out-hit or out-slugged Mookie by mere percentage points. That means increments of 1/100 of a point are all that separates their respective performances in a 5 - 6 game window to Betts' entire season. No matter where you set the bar for quality/quantity or which criterion frames the standard/model for your composite, it amounts to a stark comparison.

soto 24 walks judge 22 to say judge is not selective at the plate is just idiotic judge issue this year is he is not hitting the fastball like he did last year but that has turned around the last week
