Our expectations became dangerously high after being up 2-0, but the team did 100% face fatigue after the first few games, no matter what zibanajed says.. he just doesn’t wanna make excuses.the team was tired….. what an amazing season and I’m so happy to know that we’ll be competetive again next year and for years to come. We weren’t supposed to make it this far lol. What a magical season, a huge experience for the young guys and the team in general. This playoff run coming JUST short, just makes it more exciting for the next ones to come!!

The Rangers, a team no one believed in. A team that people said wouldn't make the playoffs. A team that had people saying had no chance at beating Carolina. A team that was predicted to lose to Tampa in five games (and they hung in there until the very end). We aren't losing any major players in free agency, keeping to core together and got valuable playoff experience. The Rangers played 20 playoff games this year. Which will prove really valuable in the years to come. We'll be back next year. Let's go Rangers

Some of the comments here are just ridiculous. These guys played hard. They were wrecked in the end. As a parent of a hockey player , I know what this does to a player. Gallant is the right coach. A few tweaks here and there is all that is needed. The future is extremely bright.

We simply just did not play like it was an elimination game tonight. No urgency on the puck, too many unconfident passes, turnovers up the wazoo, etc. This team overdid expectations by a mile, and we should be proud that we got this far. We could have gotten further though, we just kind of lost that "no quit" mentality. Lineups became chaotic after game 2, and things just did not feel right. We were a young an inexperienced team entering these playoffs, and we accomplished so much. We are winning this cup sometime in the next 5 years. It can be next year, the year after that, doesn't matter. All I know is that this team is special, and we have proven that.

@@hamburg1306 Thank Igor for that really. He has been insane, and really tried his best in stealing a win for us this game. I remember watching the Islanders cry when the Rangers beat them to make the Stanley Cup in 1979, we know what they did. I recall Mark Messier and Wayne Gretzky looking disheartened when the Islanders beat them in their first Stanley cup meeting. We know what they did. And Martin Brodeur cried through the whole handshake in 1994. We know what the Devils went in to do. The lesson, they all learned. They took that feeling of "empty" sorrow and used it as fuel to understand what it took to win the most difficult award in sports. It's ok to feel that sense of loss, but how the team takes this energy can be the component that makes the Rangers a dynasty; especially with being so young. Feel proud, you all did fantastically this year. You made New York fans smile beyond belief. But take that fuel, add it to your tenacity and become legends. You did great and New Yorkers are proud. Nothing will stop us from loving the Rangers. Next year, remember that moment and make it count. We love you and thank you for a great year.

That's an exaggeration but yeah tonight was pathetic. Look at our other elimination games, we actually played like we didn't want to leave. This game was like we are just satisfied with how far we got, and win or lose this team has already accomplished what they hoped for. We could have gotten further though, and that is what makes me upset. This team has so much potential, but we acted like we were no match. We WERE a match, we could have beaten Tampa. They were no different than the Canes, we just deflated after game 3. This team has a lot to learn, but we are getting that cup. Next year, the year after that, doesn't matter. Mark my words.
