The NYR are playing great hockey. That being said FL has beaten Vasilevskiy and Swayman and as good as Shesterkin has been in these playoffs, he is going to need even greater in this series. FL is a whole different animal. I bet that NYR defense still having nightmares about that beautiful Barkov assist to Reinheart. Anyways, I think whoever wins this series will be the cup winner. Take your pick.

while I agree that the Panthers faced quality goalies, neither the lightening or bruins had the offenseive power the Rangers have along with that quality goalie. I also think the Rangers have the edge on special teams, as they have proven they can score not only on the PP, but shorthanded as well. This will boil down to 3 things - which Goaltender can steal a game, which team can draw the retaliatory penalty, and who wants it more. There is no doubt in my mind that this series is the cup finals, as Dallas is not going to beat either of them. My Heart is with the Rangers, but I think it will be the cats who win this series.

@@robertperrotto870 Lightning still have the top scorer in hockey Kucherov, with brayden point. They can score I dont think AV was having his best season their and they were not the same dominant defensive lightining team when they won in 2020 and 2021. Rangers have strong goaltending and defense(which the Bruins had) but the Bruins do not have the offensive firepower of the rangers not even close(with no marchand). The Rangers have arguably a top 2/top3 line in the EC with Panarin Tro and Laf(9 points in 10 playoff games). And I think the best Special teams out of anyone granted Carolina and Florida are right there. But a PP unit of Fox, Panarin Trocheck, Krieder Zibenjad, Lafrienere is pretty frightening. Likewise the Rangers will be facing whom i believe is by far the best offensive threat they have faced all playoffs. Eckblad,Reinhart,Voeheige,Barkov,Taresenko(who did phenomanaly in NY) Tchachuk and even Evan Rodriguez has been very good. This is a much watch series for everyone and regardless which fanbase side your on or who wins this will be back and forth a hockey lovers dream

Lafreniere is at a PPG pace on his off wing with almost 0 PP time. Kids an absolute stud, and he mucks it up in the corners too. Anyone who wrote him off is going to be sour when he’s a point per game player next year.

Literally anyone who’s a hockey fan wins in this series. Gonna be amazing games. High quality. Rangers fan. I got rangers in 6 only because if it goes to 7 it could go either way

Rangers have the edge at the net, though Bobrovsky is not a weak Goalie by any means. Rangers have a little more talent at the forwards, but the Panthers are a tougher group of guys. So while the Rangers might be more likely to get the pretty, clever goal, the Panthers are almost as likely to do that and more likely to outmuscle and outgrind the Rangers. Both defenses are good. The Rangers have the edge on special teams. Overall, stats-wise, you may not find anything that really separates the 2 teams. During the regular season, for a stretch, the Panthers looked like the most dominant of any team this year. They had the President's trophy 2 years ago and a run to the Final last year, so they've been knocking on the door and probably feel confident that this might be their year. Only after this series ends I think you will be able to tell what was the difference. And it may come down to a clutch goal, or save, or lucky puck bounce in OT. Rangers in 7.

The comment about the Rangers bottom 6 guys not being noticeable since round 1 just shows you haven’t been watching much. That 4th line especially. Goodrow, Cuylle, Wennberg and Kakko, all of them have been super noticeable when they’re on the ice. Bringing the energy, dumping the puck and winning possession. They definitely brought the energy almost every shift they had

Rags fan here- not expecting a 'walk in the park'. We just think the team has the will. Carolina series honestly could have gone either way. IMO Rangers have more depth & better goaltending but Panthers will be tough to beat.

I don’t know what Ranger fans you’ve talked to who think this game will be a “waltz” aren’t real fans. I’ll agree we were not tested in round 1. Round 2 was their first true test and they answered greatly with their game 6 performance. You can throw all that analytical bullshit out the window it comes down to who wants it more. If these games go into OT or 5OT’s, how much heart is each team gonna have to pull off the win? At the end of the day I’ll take heart over analytical garbage any day. Rangers in 7

We actually said the Caps would not be able to handle the Rangers and would be lucky to even win 1 game because they weren’t made for the playoffs. We had the Rangers sweeping or winning in 5.

Everyone can keep sleeping on the Rangers... this team just keeps overcoming every onstacle it faces. Carolina was a great team. And in the long run. Rangers are just too overwhelming and determined... after a horrible game. 5. And even a shaky start to game 6. They showed they could end a series facing adversity. Plus Igor!!! He can steal ya 2 games, which is huge in a series.

Hard part is you can't really get too much out of the Caps series. The metro is so bad that they had multiple teams that arent playoff ready floating in and out of that spot. Canes also got swept by FL last year. This will be a real test for the Rangers. If they can beat FL then they can win the cup, but its not likely they take this series.

Rempe might play some minutes but Chytl and Wheeler are returning for this series. Rangers are heading into the ECF with the most depth they've had all season.

I’m a rangers fan and I will say Florida is a very scary team and I have lots of respect for them. Igor and Bob have been unbelievable this postseason so I think this will be up to the goaltenders bc of how evenly matched these two teams are. With that being said I’m gonna say rangers in 6 but would not be surprised if it goes to 7. Anything can happen in hockey so we as hockey fans are in for a great series

Well if Igor continues to let very few goals and is making 40-50 saves a night then Bob will have to do the same to keep games close. But then again I doubt that both teams will have a hard time scoring.

The Rangers only hope in this series is to get physical and match Florida's grit. Florida is mean whereas Carolina was all speed and finesse. This is the final 4. It is time to unleash Matt Rempe and let him fight if challenged. Trouba needs to use his body as a human torpedo. Miller is 6'5 and a tough guy who doesn't always show it, he needs to get his hands dirty. I would dress 6'5 Blake Wheeler and put him on the 3rd line. Try to draw the Panthers into several fights and many scrums, where the game will devolve into a special teams battle. That's how the Rangers manhandled the Capitals and were able to beat out Carolina the first two games even though Carolina had the edge in 5v5 play, because the penalties were 4-5 each per team. Shesterkin has the edge over Bob at this point in his career. Bob had a great season but he's been on the decline for 5 straight years before this. What Bob did this year is just an average year for Shesterkin. Rangers in 7.

@@YoungGunsPodcast I just want to add, that I would definitely add Chytl to the lineup at any and all costs. He scored some big goals in the 2022 playoffs and had 22 goals in the 2023 regular season. He's an important depth player and I would slot him in place of Kakko (who is invisible yet again) or Will Cuylle. Because we absolutely need Rempe in the lineup against Florida and I think Blake Wheeler's playoff experience (and he was once a very good player) is invaluable. So for game 1 I'd sit Kakko and Cuylle in place of Chytl and Wheeler. Alex Wennberg would also be on very thin ice and could be replaced with putting Kakko or Cuylle in game 2 if there are any mistakes. It really comes down to how physical Florida's game is in games 1-2. If they play really nasty, we can't afford to have only finesse players at depth like Kakko and Chytl, in place of the grit and size of Rempe and Wheeler. If the series is relatively clean and turns into a speed matchup, you lean on the finesse players. I would've done the reverse of everything I just said against a speed team like Carolina.

You are totally incorrect Tampa was not even a playoff team until the last 3-4 weeks when they got hot and sneaked in and Boston has barely any offensive forwards. The Canes are much better than Tampa or Boston and it's not even close. Does that mean the Rangers will win? No it doesn't mean anything but your point isn't very logical Carolina was the favorites to win the cup this year and were a great team all year they just couldn't finish even though they carried the play a good bit.

Eh, Boston had 15 OT losses. If those were counted as losses, they'd have lost 35 games. TB is a tough first round draw, but that's all they really were - a team you wouldn't want in the first round. Rangers got the easiest first round draw but the hardest second round draw by far. Carolina was picked for the finals.

@@jameshannagan4256 You are right. Who had the tougher or easier route does not have much to do with the predictions you can make about this matchup. You could just as easily say, Panthers had the tougher route so they will be more beat up and tired. Then, is facing Carolina, the odds on favorite before the playoffs and the series to win the cup, easier? Also, opponents can be made to look easy if you do that to them. If the Rangers beat the Caps in 7, everyone would be talking about how great the Caps ended up being and really testing the Rangers.

its going 7 I feel like the Rangers are going to give them a lot more problems then the Bruins have. You have a ton of offense on the Rangers side that the Bruins just didnt have. Kreider,Zibenajad,Lafreienere,Panarin, Trocheck, Rangers now have Chytil back and Wheeler is available if needed. I predict rangers in 7 I think its going to be a tight close series but id go rangers in 7. The one thing is that the Rangers I felt made themseleves a lot more convincing of a team by knocking out Carolina twice in the last 3 seasons. Carolina has had one of the best defensive cores in the leauge and 2 very good lines including Seth Jarvis, Sebestian Aho, Jordan Staal(not the greatest of series), Jake Guentzel. And Carolina has been a team favored to win the cup the last 3 seasons in a row under Rob Bri'ndamour. One other thing is Chytil could be a major addition to their bottom 3 , when he came back in the playoffs he showed signs of life. I think Florida will show the Rangers a physical side that Carolina has not, likewise I think the Rangers are going to be the most complete team the Panthers have shown, the Rangers are a lot more of an offensive threat of the bruins, and I still think this year the Rangers overall are a more complete team then Tampa because of AV's somewhat struggles in net. Overall again Say Rangers in 7 but these will be very close games and a lucky goal could force this either way,

I respect the opinion that Florida is taking the series.. that’s fine and it’s close enough that I don’t blame anyone for going either way. But every time you broke down numbers it showed the Rangers are better. While you were breaking down numbers in this video, your ultimate take seems to be on feeling.

They also played March 23 - a ranger win. I went to the Dec. game in Sunrise. Bobrovsky had to stand on his head for them to win. Rangers had 4 breakaways. Was also the start of a 6 week ranger slump.

I like our top 6 better, Igor is better, special teams are better, D core matching (with Fox hurt), and they have more depth with Chytl and Wheeler healthy. @@felixvasquez1570 Stop, the Rangers were poised for a sweep in game 4 when they overcame a 2 goal deficit to tie it at 3, and like the Canes in game 6, they hit the iron multiple times in that game. Igor let in a preventable goal, as that PP shot was unscreened and he had a clear view. Almost as if the hockey Gods wanted every series to go 6 games for the revenue.

Rangers have the best record in franchise history. They have the best record in the league. They have the best special teams both offensively and defensively. They have the best goalie. They beat a team that they said they were going to lose to. They have the most comeback wins in the league. Yet they’re still underdogs. The panthers beat a overrated Tampa bay team. And they beat a bruins team that had 16 overtime losses on the year with massive inflated numbers. Make it make sense

The best record means jack shit. it was reported that Florida locker room was going through an illness when they want on their bad stretch late in the season and I highly doubt they were putting in a full effort. They were literally only 3 points back. I hope you're betting massive on the Rangers

@@angelolagrutta4679the Rangers beat an AHL team in 1st round. The rangers beat a team that cannot score if their season depended on it in 2nd series. So they are not truly tested. The panthers defeated 2 reputable playoff hockey teams to get here. The Panthers give up 2.36 gpg (1st in league), rangers 2.70 gpg (4th in league). The panthers scored the most goals of all eastern conference teams this playoff (vs Vassey and Swayman), the rangers scored the 2nd fewest goals this playoffs, only above bruins (not surprisingly, played against panthers defense). The panthers have the most comebacks in the league in the 3rd period where it matters. And there must be a reason why the books of multibillion dollar casinos put rangers underdogs. Make sense of your sense. And even if you do, it’s meaningless. Because we can sit here cherry pick stats all we want. How about you just appreciate this opportunity to watch 2 great teams play instead of spewing out garbage stats as if you’re a hockey god.

Pretty sure that the Panthers made it clear to Rempe in the regular season that if he made a run at any of their players, the Panthers we’re going to take it out on the Rangers stars. If NYC plays Rempe, the cats would just pile up the scoresheet. Also, I don’t think turning the game into a physical shit show will work agains the Panthers. They thrive in that chaos. Tkachuk will wake up in a way NYC will find unforgivable as he transforms into the biggest villain before their eyes.
