So much hate for this one out there but it’s so pleasant and inoffensive. I agree and totally dig the mash up with Y Le Parfum and LNDL with that “sweet tarts” vibe thrown in. This will absolutely be a hit especially among the younger crowd. Got my full 4.2 oz bottle and even the soap 😅

@jameshusband3392 my 2 cents: i don't really hate this but i find it a little boring and too expensive, here where i live is 140€ for 100ml. To be honest is really a safe scent.

I agree it’s is a mashup of ysl fragrances but smells great. I kinda get some floral vibe & reminds me of woman’s ysl libre line mixed with ysl y

Another first review Randy! I haven't seen this ANYWHERE! Having now watched your first impression, I'm disappointed that YSL couldn't offer something a bit more unique. You have to wonder what their strategy is.

I feel a lot of brands are just nervous to create something unique and fail. They want to stick with the styles they know will sell. I mean tbh if u think back ysl in the last decade has pretty much stuck to the same two designer dnas and not budged off them with twists. I think that with Covid for a couple years they prob lost a good amount of money and now want to make sure they have a guaranteed sell. With that said this is nice and so are many others this year but there has legit been maybe 1 unique scent this year that doesn’t have a smell alike out there

@@FragranceDOUD You've made a number of really good points Randy. Very few designers are prepared to take risks these days. It'll be interesting to know if the new Chanel fragrance follows the same route. I appreciate that Hermes have tried to be different with H24. Btw, I've only recently discovered the original Chanel Allure Homme and was pleasantly surprised. That's despite owning AHSEE and Edition Blanche. I had dismissed it as being dated when in reality, it's still a modern fragrance. It was promptly purchased. I've now sampled the Sport and plan to pick it up as well.

To me it smells like Y Le Parfum in the opening and Love Don't Be Shy By Kilian on the dry down. I've yet to see anyone mention that. Maybe that's the niche fragrance you're thinking of? The orange blossom and grape soda vibe is similar.

Just got a sample from YSL to try this new fragrance. It smells fine, like a mixture of YSL Y Le Parfum and Bleu Electrique but softend alot with focuse on florals. It's alright, but I don't think it will be a big seller in the public its likeable though.

@@FragranceDOUD I mean I think most of general public will stick to what they already know and is popular so Myslf will have a hardtime to breakthrough because there are so many fragrances that are just better. Marketing will play a huge role though, it smells good anyways but good enough i don't know 🙂 I think it also has abit Libre in it 🤔

My 13 year old was wanting a nice, new cologne so off to the store we went. The salesperson shared MYSLF with us and my son loved and bought it. I kept smelling it and find it reminiscent to something... JOOP! Homme, which my husband used to wear. We no longer have a bottle of Joop! on hand, but I'm super curious to know whether anyone else has made this correlation?

No I’ve heard born in roma, y le parfum, lhomme, gentleman society, LNDL but not joop homme. Joop Homme is my least fav Frag I’ve ever tried and I really like this

You forgot the orange blossom in the mid and patchouli in the base with the ambrofix. I wore a sample of this today before lunch, and le parfum afterwards. To me there is only a minimum similarity between the two. Going to pick up my bottle tomorrow.

This video was only the first 20-30 minutes of the fragrance. I didn’t get a ton of orange blossom in the opening personally and not enough to warrant a mention (more of it came out as it dried after the video and is mentioned in my full review this week) and never smelled ambrosia nor do I know what it is unfortunately. The patchouli does come in later in the frag but wasn’t there in this initial impression

@@FragranceDOUD The double bergamot was familiar to me, so I went through some of my other fragrances and while they smell nothing alike, Armani Code Parfum has the Bergamot and Bergamot leaf in the top notes, as well.

Isnt le parfum "freshened up" just ysl y edp? How does it differ from edp? What do you mean freshened up? Im concerned this may be too on the female side

Def not to on the female side. Y EDP and le Parfum are similar by base dna only. Y EDP is heavy heavy heavy apple to the point that some people say it’s just apple and the y dna it’s not neccesarily a “fresh” scent it’s an all season scent with a bit of both worlds. Y le Parfum is a very nice blend of aromatics, Tonka, warm wood, a bit of apple and ginger mixed with the y dna. This takes that and instead of the heavy apple from y EDP it adds bergamot like a tart and zesty citrus that you don’t get in any of the y fragrances outside of Eau fraiChe. This one takes the warmth and sweet aromatics from the y le Parfum and mixes it with that citrus and again some other stuff further in

I thought there would be more pre- "hype" on this one...???.....seems to be a slow start for this one.(?). However, now seeing your review...I have to ask...."WHY" are they even doing this...????!!!! A major pass for me. I am so eager for NEW DNA's in the designer fragrance world. Flankers are starting to BORE me (although, some HAVE been great). FYI: I just got Arabiyat Prestige- Hypnotic Oud ( yeah,yeah..another By the Fireplace clone...but with a tad of a twist, and quality+ performance is A+ IMHO.) I find Lattrafa Amir al Oud Intense to be "it's own scent" compared to MMM Fireplace..no quite a full dupe, again IMO.

It's the bloody Ambroxan (same as Ambrofix) that "REMINDS" everyone 😂 of "some perfume" ... It's a decent realese, clean and pleasant 👌 I personally like it, need to wear a fragrance for at least couple.of weeks and then realise if you found 🤔 your.. myslf 😂❤

Lol! Someone said there is ambrosia in this. But to me it’s not the Ambroxan because after this video I got a lot more cardamom and orange blossom which made me think of a blend of LNDL and valentino Uomo both that don’t have ambox in it. I do get the ambrox just not super heavy. I love the MYSLF meme comments lol

Ur the first I’ve heard say it doesn’t resemble y le Parfum even a little. For me it’s not the most prominent part it’s more like valentino born in roma mixed with LNDL and a base of y le Parfum. But most reviewers and subs I’ve spoken to that tried it said the base of the frag has a resemblance y le parfum. But hey fragrances are subjective. Some say it smells almost exact some say they notice it but nuanced but again for me that died away and it’s more of a mix of the other 2. Again this was only the opening few minutes of the fragrance my full video hasn’t been released

@@FragranceDOUD fragrances are subjective not going to argue that but I watched this video before making my way to macys with what u said in mind and tested it side by side with y edp and y le parfum n didn’t pick up either but I did pick up more resemblance to Prada LR Ocean in my opinion. I’m not saying it doesn’t smell like Y too u, it just doesn’t to me.
