Kind of amazing how underpowered trucks were back then for grades like that, now its nothing for a truck to have 500, 600, 700+ hp

Fletcher Challenge brought, 100Kenworths for $1million from Nth America ..in the 70s, that's straight up $1m.. I remember right, they were Green an Orange/Red..... To run logs to Pan Pac paper Mill Whirinaki, an to Kawerau, on the Million $ highway ... They put another motor in the rear end of the tractor, an had a 1000HP ..On tap .. That Kenny, could do 100mph, 120ton load, on the $million Highway.... With a madman behind the Wheel,... I kid you not lady's an gentlemen...

I think the old Isuzu of progress transport probably had a 270hp engine in it. Slow but reliable trucks.

From the videos I have seen about trucking; most of the roads have a lot of curves and a lot of hills. is just where the videos was made? are they working on talking some of the curves our of the roads and making the roads more level? thanks for the video on the older trucks. they still do a good job but are not a s beautiful as the new ones are and
