So amazing to see cops doing this sort of thing for those kids. "My mind is stronger then my body" hopefully that sticks with a few of them throughout their whole life. Such a powerful and positive message. Amazing police officer - great work Johnny! True inspiration.

The magic of night shift! When you arrive at the station pumped, even though you've had poor quality sleep during the day thanks to your neighbour mowing. By the early hours of the morning of your last block of nigh shifts, you can hear music playing somewhere. The tricks of the mind when your circadian rhythm is upset. Night shift is great when you're a GD cop. After a decade under your belt, the prospect of working in a branch that only does days or the occasional nigh callout sounds enticing. Your family and body appreciates it too! Having said that, I still miss working nights.
@newzealandpolice5 жыл бұрын
I love night shifts, they are my zone! Our roster is kind, 2,2,2 early,lates,nights so you kinda just slide your sleep pattern later and later each week and then earlier and earlier on days off it's not too bad. Keep fighting the good fight mate. - Constable Hurn.
@doncoleman49385 жыл бұрын
I miss stopping at the BP at 4a.m. to fill up in a busy shift. Right when they're doing the pastry changeover and there's cheap Danish and donut treats going cheap!! Doing 2-2-2- is not too bad then; similar to our shifts (D,A,A,N or D,A,N,N mostly with the occasional D,D,A,N). AFP did blocks of days then afternoons then nights. Rotating through in one block is easier. What about roster projection with NZP? Is it a crappy 6 weeks typical of police? With QAS it's a kinder 13 weeks. Take care out there!! I'm still looking for some more patches for your collection.

To build on Constable Hurn's comment. You press the ignition bypass button and the engine keeps running when you're in park and take the keys out. If you don't put the key back in, when you press on the brake pedal the engine will stop. So you can run the car with the keys out, but not drive it.
