Eddie is just doing what he has always done and will continue to do. He makes controversial comments to get you all talking about him and "calling him out". He gives all the pundits their big talking points. This takes away all attention from the players and reduces the pressure on them. Man works the media well.

Agreed, as a former Referee myself, we're only human as well. But, this was under the scrutiny of the entire Rugby World and a Referee is not only judged by players, and fans, but also by peer group Referees. EJ was wrong to say that but is right in saying the ref had a bad game. The break down was a mess and Aus were coming in from the side. But that's not why England lost, they lost because they couldn't finish the job. That's on them. 2 red in my opinion or 2 yellows. Some common sense must come into it, it't not black and white.

Aussie(s) can be used in context as a person *or* a country as it is slang for both. Your comparison to kiwis can only be used in the person sense (slang), not the country (slang) - From a Duel Australia/NZ citizen. *Kiwi is not slang for New Zealand as a nation - New Zealand or Aotearoa is the common name used for NZ and has no real slang for it - unless you asked a kiwi, in which they would say 'Nu Zulund' (incorporating heavy kiwi accent/mocking)

Geoff Wilson has a point that if the first face push was penalised the hair pulling probably wouldn't have happened. Saying that, the face push is only a penalty imo. I’m not an EJ fan - but disagree with the panel. There are times in the TV era that the ref does, consciously or unconsciously, keep a contest going by being la little lenient on the side down. Not always - but it can and does happen. Moreover, anyone who has played rugby knows that a lot of borderline issues (subjective in nature) can determine the result. It is unfortunate - but slight deviations in refs can completely change the course of the game. Even consistent refs. This is the way it has always been. Back in SA, when I was young, it happened all the time. In some cases, it was clear the ref was biased. So it pays not to get up the refs nose. Rugby wisdom. Moreover, in the Aus - Eng game, the ref probably belatedly in the game also regretted not sending them both off. He should have.

Ik everyone likes to hate on Eddie. But it is true. The ref does tend to give the 50/50s to the team without the red card. Just look at England v Ireland in the 6 nations, after the early red all the decisions went englands way. U should still win a man up for more than half the game, and the ref ‘evening things up’ was not the reason England lost. But it’s foolish to think it doesn’t happen when it does.

@@joedennehy386 I think you would have to talk to the AB's, but I am sure the ref gave them every chance of redressing the balance. I think the final test between the AB's and the Lions in 2017 was one of the most absurd decisions I have ever seen where the ref allowed a Lions offside handling error which resulted in a draw and I speak as an Englishman. It had politics/big money written all over it. It was a showcase competition and they desperately needed to keep the punter interested with the usual media hysteria and frenzied ramping. Sports and the ethos of fair play should go hand in hand. There are always those who violate this and that is where the laws of the game come into play. Not a good coach. Outside of personal animosity, why is he not a good coach? Try taking a look at England's record under him compared with any/all Irish coaches during the same period.

@@garyross4602 apples and oranges man lol you guys were a huge name in the sport for decades(take the 6 nations grand slam in 09 for the first time in over 60 years for us when you had them dime a dozen for years previous) we're only catching up lol however I would probably put joe Schmidt up there as as good and successful coach as England have had in the last few coaches... but if you can't objectively see how much we've grown in the last 15 years there's no point saying any more tbh I think Jones wants you guys to Play a far too 1 dimensional game he just wants the chariot to charge over everyone but with the level of the modern day game too many teams know how to defend against it... but do me a favor and look at the penalty count and turnover count against the English under Jones compared to previous coaches going back to the 03 world cup Era you don't need to be a statistician to know that in the modern game that math don't math to being a consistently winning side 🤷 my 2 cents anyway

@@davidcunningham947 Why is it apples and oranges? Surely the proof of how good, or bad, a coach is, regardless of the Country he coaches, is shown in the win/loss column. Personally, post Woodward, I liked Lancaster as a coach [and not just because he hails from Penrith in Cumbria as I do] but he lost too often, ergo he was fired. Jones' win/loss percentage over the 58 tests he has been in charge of is 78%, better than any of the last 10 English coaches, including Woodward, who rates 6th with a 71% total [over 83 tests]. However, due to the World Cup win he will rate higher than any other English coach until someone else does the same. Jones has come close to achieving that and I hope will go the last step forward to doing so. Who was the last Irish Coach/Team to achieve that? As for the penalties, in a recent pole amongst All Blacks players 80% admitted cheating during every game, something anyone who ever watches them can attest to and yet they are, quite rightly, regarded until their defeat by Ireland, as consistently the greatest of all teams. Go figure.

funny you say this in the 1st 5mins when you didn't do to well in the 2nd test, also not seen to many ball catches were the player sticks his leg out so can't be tackled properly because the tackler doesn't want a mouth full of studded boot

I won't defend Hill. But Hooper-- who wasn't hurt--contrived to get Billy yellow carded, when even the ref said Billy was passive and so it shouldn't have been even a penalty against him. And shortly after, an Aussie no arms tackles an Englishman and nothing is given... (Also, Kirwin might listen to Nigel Owens pointing out that there should have been a red card for a foul on Peter O'Mahony).
