Shocking from Man United. Tough day that. 2 week wait and we were a shambles. Such a worry the drop off without Casemiro/Eriksen but every player other than De Gea was pretty much awful. Win as a team, lose a team.
The game showed how much we need Casemiro & Eriksen back as soon as possible, our midfield just doesn’t work without them.

2 week wait for that? Newcastle deserved winners. Second rate performances everywhere. So poor without Casemiro/Eriksen but not an excuse for the sub-rate displays from so many others. Again, a long break and we switched off. Punished.

Anything other than a loss would have been a surprise. Main take away is WE NEED A STRIKER IN SUMMER! WE NEED A ANOTHER DEFENSIVE MID LIKE CASIMERO! WE NEED ANOTHER QUALITY CB. We don't have a single CB we can depend on off the bench! Same for our Striker role and if Casimero can't play. JUST FRUSTRATING! As for ETH, I won't blame him cuz he doesn't have the right players just yet.

We’re lucky not to be losing 4-0, or 5-0, Newcastle the deserving winner today period. The squad depth is seriously something we should address coming summer and get rid of those deadwood, no need for me to name who. Top 4 looks like in jeopardy right now.

I knew you would forget Wan Bissaka's role he is a very vital player for Utd. Ever since Dalots return we hardly win games, but the coach continuously uses him in almost every big game.

Deserved loss. No scapegoats. They played better. They won. A bit confused when Ten Hag took Antony & then Lisandro- Varane out. I think all 3 were our best performances on the pitch. Midfield lost. How many times they got chances for a free shot right in front of our box like that? None of our midfielders got the discipline to stay in that position. I was hoping for a draw before the match tbh. Just the 1st game of a festive month. Good to see Martial back. Come on Utd🔴🔴

Unfortunately all my concerns that I had coming into this game were on show today. Guimares bossed the midfield which any half decent CM does when Casemiro isn't in there. The fall off without him is scary. Zero control & 2-0 flattered us really. Ten Hag has done unreal this season & for anyone who got carried away with how much this team is still in transition & still needs a lot of work, they can look at games like this & how one or two key players missing levels down our team so dramatically.

Even with Casemiro we have problems. We saw it against Newcastle in the final, we saw it against liverpool. We need a MF revamp, Casemiri cant do it on his own. And Eriksen is NOT a midfielder. He's brilliant and smart enough to hold his own but he is not the answer to our MF woes. There needs to be an alternative to Bruno as well and not just like for like, it has to be tactical and it has to be in MF. 3 MF minimum in the summer

forget about strikers, forget about GKs, *what we need are technical midfielders* who can keep and pass the ball with an attacking purpose. Sabitzer is awful, mct is awful and fred is decent sometimes. We basically need 2 CM of real quality

United have played 6 of the other 8 sides in the top 9 away from home. And have lost EVERY single game sometimes by huge margins whether or not Casemiro or Eriksen were playing: City 6-3; Arsenal 3-2; Newcastle 2-0, Brentford 4-0, Liverpool 7-0 and Villa 3-1. Aggregate 6 goals scored 25 (yes, 25!) conceded in just 6 games. ETH must now take a serious look at how he is setting up the team away from home against the better sides. Must play with the extra man in midfield as he did against City at OT, or go to a back 3, and play 5 in the middle of the park.

The entire team was useless including ETH (with senseless subs), the only goodness is that martial is back and looking really sharp, I hope he stays fit. I saw this coming because we were extremely poor against Fulham until they had that moment of madness that switched the game in our favor. I hope we reset and kick on from here. These guys are fatigued let’s face reality, we need a bigger squad for the number of games we are playing, I doubt Casemiro or erikson would have made any difference, we need to reset.

That's very true , maybe the professionalism has been better since the arrival of ETH , but the skills lack so much , we were not even able to complete simple passes so often in this match , and we couldn't play clever passes when needed , it was frustrating and worrying at the same time. Watching City passing Liverpool off the park yesterday , I was just like "If only we could do even a fraction of that" then we wouldn't present teams with much opportunities. I know Newcastle was good , but we helped them to be even better because we lacked everything in this match , even the basics were not there.

Should have played Shaw in centre half, Malacia at left back and Martinez as the DM. Would have been solid at the back at least. I don’t think it could have changed the result as our attacking was woeful apart from the odd burst from Anthony. 🤷🏻‍♂️

We will still have lost. These players are not competitive enough. They don't even play for themselves. It's the reason Casemiro is so missed or Eriksen's contributions in terms of being creative or Gernacho's tenacity.

Whenever we take long to score. We look like we are still under Ralf Ragnick. I failed to see a clear idea on the ball whenever we progressed forward. And he now and should know that the 12th man Newcastle supporters were pivotal to giving their players extra energy. Martial and Sancho should have started. The mid field is shocking. Shaw was struggling. Newcastle came at us on this side so many times. Why change the back two?? He had a clanger today. Top four is now debatable.

You know, we need games like this to send a reset mentality throughout the club. We are nothing close to where we want to be. We need another Casemiro, another Eriksen, a real number 9, an understudy to that number 9 and A better RB. To begin with. 2 absences and we are back to how it was? That’s not good at all. ETH should be getting ready for major signings, the club should be backing him even more. There’s so much work to be done.

They were playing like headless chickens... ETH's subs and timing were off too. They asked ETH in a press conference after McTominay scored goals during the international break and he said that He is better as a midfielder. I wondwr why ETH decided to put him ahead of Bruno. I can't go to my WhatsApp status bar right now. My non ManUnited fans contacts are roasting us right now on my status. Let me preserve my peace of mind and avoid WhatsApp and twitter tonight.

Since our second leg victory over Barcelona at old Trafford we have been on a downward spiral. ETH has to do something about it fast or else we risk not making the top four again this year.

Woeful performance. Lack of fight, cohesion, ball retention and structure in midfield was worrying. I fear our top 4 charge will unravel without Casemiro and Eriksen. I also think quite a few players are damaged goods mentally, and won't be able to be show the right title challenging attitude that this united team needs. McT, Fred, Martial, Lindelof and Maguire should all be offloaded in summer. Get Ugarte, Kim Min-Jae, promote Mainoo, Hannibal and Mengi. Then use rest of budget to get Højlund, Ramos and also Thuram and possibly Tielemans on free transfers. We need multiple options up front. Weghorst and Martial not good enough. Rashford didn't look fit.

Very Well deserved loss. The insistence on starting Wout is baffling. But also baffling is how we seem to be playing worse as the season wears on. I would have expected the players by now to be passing better, playing patterns improved and one touch football to be more routine. It's as if all that coaching is being undone. ETH had a stinker today, and will continue to do so so long as Wout continues to start

So who do you propose should start in the striker? Mcsaucy? Maguire? Im taking weghorst every day. The only real mistake was playing mctominay. And all of the subs of course.

@@sabiotiopablo5787 you'd take Weghorst any day? How our standards have so fallen to the ground. What has he contributes or achieved so far? 2 rebound goals? Is that what a striker in United should contribute? I'll rather we play Elanga as striker than Weghorst. He should just leave as soon as the PL finishes in May

@Sabio Tio Pablo cmon get serious. Wout is a detriment to the team. His hold up play is non-existent, he cant score or assist, the front line lacks dynamism with him in it. If he gets started simply because he runs about a lot then surely one of the other benched foward players should rotated regularly with him in that position because atm that is all he offers. Scary part is how ETH saw him as ManUtd type player and seems to continue to do so.

I thought Anfield was a one- off and Newcastle are not Liverpool despite their deluded fans. The ‘kitchen sink’ was as bad/worse than what went before it. Up front we had less than nothing and then he took off two of our better players. Unacceptable for a second time .

Respect to u 4 saying it as it was. It's not blaming the absence of the 2, its putting no controllers in the middle Sam. Couldn't put a chain of passes together. CC blocks, CE controls, BF sets up, it was Amateur Hr. TH was right with the 3-5-2 change, but too little....

This is what we get for wanting fighters with tackles. Because what we get is lack of skill. We need skill above all else. And Eriksen and Casemiro ooze skill. We are not a bottom championship team that proud of every tackle... "you go son, plow them down!"... no, we need skill, not brainless brute force. When did you see a CL winner that relies on brute force? It doesn't happen. We need a total change of mentality. From praising brute force, to praising elegant skill and brains.

We deserved the loss no question. 2-0 is so flattering considering we got outplayed from start to finish. Without Casemiro and Eriksen we're so screwed in the midfield that Bruno G dominated us.

Let's face it. Utd have been poor lately which in my opinion is greatly due to the overloaded schedule. We also have to factor in the absence of Casemiro & Eriksen. Let's buckle our safety belts as Utd have 9 games in April and it may get worse.

I'd put that to the absence of Fred and AWB over missing Casemiro . There was enough there , Weghorst is useless now , he has been found out he just gets nullified now and he offers no goal threat whatsover so now he's pointless . You go to st James park with weghorst as your're main idea you may as well play 9 v 12 , Jeez .

Maybe the reason why players are not in the mood to give their all knowing Weghorst is just a passenger. We were very supportive of him in the beginning but he is just one passenger in that awful team. And offering a lot of money to Rashford? Maybe not worth it.

Ten Hag's decisions today were poor. Fred should've started ahead of Weghorst, who's hopeless. Taking off two CBs was absolutely ridiculous. Only positive was Martial coming back. 0 goals on 3 league games and 9 conceded.
