That was why she felt that the group didn't need teasers.

Na go eun is pretty big too due to pd48 but they still do a lot of predebut stuff. This group literally put out mv teaser directly. No introduction, no predebut promotion at all

There are exceptions (like Gfriend) but this is true 90% of the time. HYBE has now become so big that they had to rename the Big 3 the Big 4, meaning any group that debuts through them gets the same advantage of instant popularity and guaranteed success that Big 3 groups do. NewJeans recently broke a record for first-day sales by a debuting girl group and you know who the previous record holder was? Le Sserafim, who also debuted through HYBE. Is that a coincidence? Also Min Heejin is known as a creative director from SM who worked with f(x) and Red Velvet, so she certainly brought some attention to the group too. BTW the group that put out pre-debut content for 2 years was Loona. Purple Kiss had some but it didn't go on for that long.

@@MarkDeSade100 i understand your point and i agree to certain extend specially when you talk about sales , but just to state something clear the main reason why NewJeans music is doing so well in kcharts and the reason why they are the only gg after blackpink to debut with a RAK is because Korean general public liked their music , they are crazy over NewJeans refreshing sound, their chill , soft R&B style that is very refreshing when it comes to maintream K-pop these days , all NewJeans videos are full of korean comments from fans and non fans (general public ) talking about how refreshing their music and concept is and that they were tired of idol groups specially 4th gen groups doing the same concepts and repeating the same formula of music (hip Hop , baddass , girl crush , dark concepts ) and they were tired of the loud noisy music so they said NewJeans music is so good because it's easy to enjoy and listen to and pleseant to ears , something that kpop needed . The main focus is still the music . Also did you know that even idol groups are crazy about Newjeans and a Lot of korean R&B artists and korean rappers are praising them which it's something not so common , because they never tend to even paid attention or listen to idols groups music but somehow they are crazy in love with Newjeans chill , laid R&B style that honestly isn't that common for idol groups specially not for title tracks . So while company privilege is a thing like the Big4 thing you explained , their success not only relay on that factor but on the fact that so many people specially korean general public is digging and liking their sound , they love their songs , reason why they have 3/4 songs of their debut EP charting in all kcharts and have two songs in top 10 in all kcharts . attention and hype boy are both very loved by korean general public and not only by fans of NewJeans .
