Atal ji is an excellent example of how a leader should be....todays leaders should look upon him as their role model....Such was the compassion of him towards the country that even opposition leaders praised him....he literally was a true son of our Bharat... @@TirthBhagat. In 2000 he did a atomic nuclear test. During that time due to some sanctions and other economic resons Onion and other vegetables rate got hiked up. Most of politicians think due that hype in price was the reason.

On the other hand, the government must understand that eradicating the opposition would lay the foundation for autocracy or tyranny and eventually, the end of democracy. In a democratic rule, the opposition is as legitimate as the government. The opposition must be rational, meaningful, and well-intentioned to do the job. The cornerstone of a healthy democracy is the opposition.

Competent opposition contributes to achieving the objective of political action. In addition, it must be purposeful and present different paths from the current ones to ensure greater efficiency in the public sector and enable constant national growth. It requires an opposition that can control and analyze a policy that is not pro-people.

Actually he and his party was denied respect, opportunities and power systematically for many decades in the name of ideology, but his personal charm, dignity, charishma and grace ensured he always remained one of the top leaders in the country, so much so that no one could ever ignore him. His poetic skills and oratory was also helpful, so we can say he lived and proved his credibility continuously. once he became the PM he proved he was the best.

Sri Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji was a legend. You can't imagine a politician like him. He lost no confidence motion by 1 vote and he resigned. as he believed that constitution and country is above all. He was a true deshbhakt and a great Hindi poet. He is true Bharat Ratna.

I watched that landmark speech live on Doordarshan, as later speaker of P.N. Sangma said in parliament "That day you lost confidence motion in parliament but won heart of India" such appreciation/ compliment for leader of opposition from ruling party was not rare for Vajpayee Ji.
