Phinks and Nobunaga arguing about which nen category was used reminds me of how fans usually are like when they also argue about nen types of certain abilities. Really great to see Togashi showed that these characters are just like us.

The scary part about this saga, is that there isn't really anyone that has to survive. The closest to that in my eyes is Kurapika, but even if he died, the story would just keep going.

I don't see Hinrigh as a GOOD GUY, he's just incredibly loyal to his family which is why I'm interested in his character. What happens when he has to go against The Spiders for the sake of his family after earning their trust? Will he hesitate or not? He's a character Togashi can really use to subvert our expectations.

Totally agree Nobunaga and Hinriegh seem to be forming a friendship. I think of how Nobu wanted Gon to join too. Nobunaga just a cool, friendly dude

Also always good fun when Feitan speaks. He was supposed to not speak the same native language as the rest of the people in this story which is not really shown in the 2011 anime but is in the 1999 anime and in the manga including this chapter’s broken sentences. He was effectively mute in the flashback which makes sense given he probably was not able to communicate very well. Makes the concept of fan dubbing even more touching. In this tiny group of poverty stricken kids who cannot even interact well with media and each other due to lack of educational opportunities, they came together to dub a show :)

Hinrigh has a bit of a Morel appeal, not on his level, but a really versatile, smart fighter dealing with people more powerful than himself.

Phinks and Nobu arguing was my favorite part. Adds a lot of character to them and fleshes out the relationships of the troupe more lol

Togashi makes things as human and real within the confines of an anime 😂. Seeing Phinks being wrong in his thought process is awesome to me. I dont want to see the classic know-it-all thought process of some antagonist. This makes it all the more real.

I’ve noticed that Togashi’s storytelling has become more cerebral and thorough in revealing characters’ thought processes. Although, he doesn’t cherry pick the scenarios anymore, which can be trivial at times. During the pre-Chimera Ant Arc and during the arc itself, the battle psyche and fighter philosophies of the characters with those paragraphs going through the thoughts and feelings of characters were really fascinating. They weren’t like mystery-story reflections or problem-solving like in Death Note that showed how clever the storytelling was, but for Togashi it’s more of introspection and true omniscience of what he’s allowing his readers to access, like a behind-the-scenes look of how Togashi is weaving the story internally and as shown on the panels.

I'm more surprised by Phinks - an enhancer - saying he didn't want to just bust in guns blazing xD

When he creates copies, those copies can be used as EN that's why they able to locate the Squala, and given that Morena is Specialist, she planned all of this, remember that specialists are well calculated persons just like Kurapika and Chrollo.

The flashback lionized the Troupe so much more in my eyes. Yes, their reasons are noble, but they still did everything they did. They still killed a lot of people and caused a lot of unreversable damage. Their story is tragic, several children losing their innocence and feeling forced to become the thing that stole their innocence in the first place. After all, have the Troupe ever been shy about taking credit?

What if that is a little hint what will await us in the future? Hear me out: I believe it's a hint that, in the near future we will see Knov again? This comment got *sliced down* right bevor he could tell us something important? This reminded me of when Knov invaded the castle and used his ability *Screen* to decapitade an ant patrol. Thats ehy I believe, we will see Knov in action pretty soon. Even if that ends up not true, imagining Togashi using Screen to silince his co worker is quite funny ^^

I don't think Hinrigh would fit that well into the PT. Personality wise he seems compatible enough but he also trives in a highly structured organization like the mafia, which the PT is anything but

Damn. What if the way they chop up the bodies is similar to how Sarasa's body was chopped up? Like the reason we got the PT backstory was because there will be a connection to what's happening on the ship.

Nobunaga and Hinrigh are an exciting and able pair: brains combined with fighting instinct. I hope their story isn't over that soon. And we have yet to explore Nobunaga's Nen abilites.

I doubt that Togashi is planning on killing them right now. I believe he is setting up the stage for a war amongst the mafia, the spiders and the princes. So I think that he will stop advancing the mafia story and go back to Kurapika to set him on the stage. The arch is probably going to end in a large scale tag battle instead of having separate conflicts resolved in different times.

Nobunaga and Hinrigh is a good combo 🤔 I also like the dark and sinister atmosphere of this whole New World arc.

hopefully the next couple chapters will showcase nobunaga nen abilities, he is one of the more mysterious abilities when it comes to nen, after all these years i cannot wait for togashi to unravel it, maybe henry's fate gonna end up like sarasa and nobu will once again use some sort of nen technique he only used once in his life or something else, the stage is lit for nobunaga 😎👌

The landmine nen ability is similar to knov ability which create a nen circle in the ground or on the wall. But knov ability was far more powerful and advanced !!

After the the soul destruction that was chapter 397, I really needed a good laugh. While some creepy dark stuff is still in this chapter and surely, most certainly, some very very very dark and horrible things are yet to come in this arc…. Seeing the boys trash talk each other relentlessly in this calm before the storm put a massive smile on my face. :)

I love the writing style of Yoshihiro Togashi. I like to get into the characters mind to see & experience how they think. It adds more to the excitement when you’re guessing what a character will do based off an in-depth understanding.

I'd be very disappointed if Nobunaga dies here. From a story standpoint, if you cut out Greed Island and CA. During York New, Nobunaga was the most visually furious at Kurapika and wanting to find out who the chain user was. He was the first one to find out Kurapikas name after Puka shot him with her memories. If we don't get a Nobunaga/Kurapika meeting I'll have the most massive blue balls.

Honestly it seems very probable that Nobunaga sacrifices himself so Hinrigh doesn’t die - he’s very ride or die, and I imagine valuing his allies very highly. And both of them dying would make for a neat transition to Kurapika…especially if Nobunaga’s corpse is found and they decide to inform Kurapika.

I can't stop to think that Morena's family is like a paradise for Hisoka and he should be alligned with them in an official or unofficial way. And I don't mean it in a idealistic or ethical way, but I mean that with Morena's Contagion is possible to create at will decent Nen Users and among them you can find some gems... and Hisoka is thirsty for strong opponents to fight. So Morena could be the golden eggs factory and Hisoka would want her to survive and propagate her Contagion even more

I like Hinringh a lot. Even when he was first introduced before the hiatus, I loved his Nen ability. Now, I’m loving it even more seeing it in action. Also he isn’t afraid or hands on approach or field work. He is smart, calculating and strong in his own right.

To your point at about 4:00 is I agree, i love how even though the audience may know some info, in that fictional world the characters dont. Its beautiful to see there logic at work, to essentially come to the conclusion we were just given

Yeah I mentioned this initially that Voconte’s ability is the one transporting them. Everyone seems to have missed that even tho it was revealed on the 6th page. Togashi realized that most of you were confused so he uses Phinks & Nobu perfectly as objective correlatives. Most of the readers for that weeks’s chapter were basically Phinks. Minority of us already had deduced what Nobu thought. Nobu’s facial expression indicates that he’s aware that whoever is creating that room is a worthy nen user. He instantly became hostile. Amazing. Morena likely isn’t on the other side of that door, but Dog Mask. He’s an enhancer, a good matchup for Nobu who has experience dealing with them thanks to Uvo. I have a couple more theories. Let me know what you think.

Such an interesting chapter. What really interests me is the feeling that Nobunaga and Hinrigh are likely walking into the aftermath of something. The rooms is ominously empty, like zero signs of life. They didnt leave anything behind at all which makes me think this isnt just a trap. Also its important to remember we still dont truly know how powerful nobunaga is, we just know he is. So if it comes down to a bloodbath, itd be interesting to see how hed fair.

After an almost 4 year hiatus, I tried to read the last few chapters but was completely lost. In the end, I reread the whole arc ( from around 340) and this time I decided to make notes so that if/when another long term hiatus happens, I can catch up up a lot quicker. I really enjoyed reading the arc again and it really helped to better understand the dynamics of these new chapters, which I carefully read to ensure I didn't miss anything lol

Hnrigh or whoever that guy is, is basically just giorno, jumping on a trap to help new team mates that he doesn't even know. Not to mention Hnrigh also has Gold Experience

I believe Voconte would have killed 25 people to get to level 26 as they started at level 1. Hinrigh was very cool in this chapter, impressed the troupe quite a bit too. Love his quick reaction with crouching into a stab after getting teleported. I feel like the panel of Morena shows how she is playing with them and anticipating movements, just like a real Game Master.

If nobunaga dies in the next 2 chapters I’d like to see him go out in a blaze of glory and cut loose.

I'd like to offer a perspective on the performance. It's really quite wonderful. Think about what we're watching. It's both a summary combined with explanations, context, analysis and specific detail while at the same time being a hyper-real performance that combines analog and digital actions. I'm not sure what you'd call the formally call the style, a sort-of spoken word and motion performance: hand-motions to convey a plot point, face and body language to convey points with hand motions to add flare to popping up an imagine on screen. This is an art. Think of the advancement: thousands of years ago, the Greeks would perform plays and people would talk about them. Less complex plays, something meant to convey a lesson, minimal plot points, less degree of trying to be overly cleaver, less complexity. People would argue which character should've done this or that, and what not. The early arts. But today we have the impossible: a story first published in 1998 has continued until 2022. There are 398 chapters. The story only grows in readers, with hundreds of hours of reading. The complexity is immense with countless details that all fit together to allow the reader to tease out a little more information, to make plausible guesses about the mysteries and future chapters, keeping the reader on the edge of their seat for that long. It's a form of art that couldn't exist in the past. Looking at it from the historical lens, those of us watching this are watching an artistic evolution that could only exist in this day and age. The performance is free (!), available 24/7, and is performed so well that it's somewhat difficult to even recognize *as* a performance. A performer is making (hopefully) his living by practicing his craft, acknowledging his performance and his skill by way of handling reminders to subscribe, like, recommend a product occasionally without annoying. With the due deference to it's night mandatory requirement before it's on with the show, like a skillful street perform reminding you entertainingly that his hat was available for those satisfied with the performance and then on with the show. This is a post-modern evolution of multiple art forms. Quite wonderful indeed.

One Minute of silence for Giga Chad Knov who, despite is experience and power - or maybe even exactly because of it, got terrifyied shitless by just touching Pitous En. He was a good man .... and i fucking LOVED to see him in action! All the teleport shit was already cool but when he got out this little piece of teleport matter to teleport that ants HEAD FROM ITS BODY!!!!!!!! that was the shit that made me wet. I would love to see more of him but i assume he is retired or at least doesnt do direct confrontations anymore after the chimera ant trauma.

This is also ironic if hinrigh gets caught cause they are exactly the type of killers to then cut up their victims afterwards so the tracker WILL most likely be found shortly after. Also at this point, it's every man for themself almost, so Hinrigh going against the spiders or selling out Hisoka is just whatever will seem best to his family at the time most likely. There's also the fact that both the spiders and Hisoka are of the same mindset and genuinely wouldn't care about a guy like Hinrigh staying true to his code like the needle to the compass. Man this arc is hype.

Hey guys... I don't know if anyone else has talked about this before me, but wouldn't it make total sense if the Hy-lee are the ones who kidnapped & tortured Sarasa? Their methods are similar, they work for Tserriednich, the body horror prince who loved this grotesque hobby since childhood, AND potentially, if Morena was involved that would be a real reason to kidnap and kill a lot of people so that she could have a nen army to take over everything... especially the Kakin Empire she HATES!!! It also parallels the way the troupe watched all those videos over and over, what if Tserriednich also watched them as a child and because he was a prince he could order them made himself!!! Kurapika and The Spiders would then have the SAME ENEMY!!!

theory: the reason that Morena shot is there is because.. the rooms are in her head? so she is basically watching them from within? there is a connection between that image and Nobu saying the nen user must be close, with her smilling than makes my think of a mouse maze game..

Man you have to pay attention. Conjuration is used for creating special spaces, Nobunaga specifically mentioned that. Knov didn't emit the mansion, but he actually conjured it, it makes sense since he also trapped non-nen chimera ants, and they saw the mansion - meaning it's conjured for non-nen to be able to see it. Based on Nobunaga's explanation. Conjuration abilities can't be used in conjunction of teleportation which is an emission ability. Conjuration is great for creating rooms with complex rules. But knov basically created nen space- a mansion - That's definitely conjuration but since he has only little affinity in it, his mansion doesn't have complex rules but instead just a simple nen space. What made it deadly is the emission aspect of it which is the teleportation. And he also uses portals to send people to these rooms - that's emission. Considering the number of portals or entrances he could create he's definitely a master emitter who specializes in teleportation. Plus his traps are not boundery type but instead land mine traps. Which should limit his portals to 3 but he could actually emit portals at whopping 32 of them. Nobunaga would be amazed if he had seen Knov's power. Nobu also said that these two abilities(conjuration and emission(teleportation)) are not compatible to be used together. But knov use both of them well. Knov has actually able to surpass these limitations that Nobunaga explained. He's a master emitter since he's able to go beyond these limitations.

I just want to point out that if we see illumi in the same floor as hisoka again…. Its hisoka in disguise its just too many coincidences
