Love how the ease of video/motion creation is progressing. The huge barrier to use for paying users is that you pay upfront for a generation you may not be happy with that may taken even more generations with token costs before you get what you want. A fairer way to do it would be you only get charged once you download. It's kinda like having a logo designed and having to pay for it even if you can't use it.

I just watched another review and leonardo came last. Pika & runway came out on top. Again its all early days, but for animating figures or animals maybe the other 2 are a lot stronger.

Working with Pika for a while, ive noticed that "high motion" options mostly work well only on "close objects" like take a portrait or a close up of a face. But if the object is "further into" and more detailed, like a photo of a couple dancing then you should probably only use low motion (from my experience). Also "ghosting" is probably more noticable in dark pictures, but then again who will even notice in if the clip is just a few seconds long. A little sad that you have to spend your daily points on not only on uploading your own images, but its kinda expensive remembering how random & how easy it warps. But i do understand they have to limit things or the site would probably break down lol. Also i really hope we get some controls soon like in LeiaPix so you at least can panning/zoom etc. yourself.

Fab to get your thoughts and examples you worked on - I had been playing around testing also and find that image content and style play a role in how the AI chooses to animate - i would love more control and be able to specify areas and currently do a bunch of iterations with different levels to find one that works for what I had in mind or something I like I hadnt anticipated. My favourite mini animations are a christmas card and a teddy bear on a partk bench at christmas time - very nice and excellent feature to have for when these types of animations are appropriate to the projects!

Makes me think that without any control, a single good generation might even take more than a single day to pull off. that's a little frustrating, but still better than nothing. thats interesting that it doesnt deal with hyper realism that well when i imagine its built with Stabel video diffusion as its very similiar to it - but in my use of ComfyUI it hates non-photorealistic things - it oftens doesnt animate them at all

Starting with the first "video" of the statue...why would the background rotate and not the statue? All the ones that look good only change the background.

I ended up with only 2 tokens left. The images I got (8) were terrible and were not what I asked for. Why do they have to make it so complicated to use? The 'animation' was terrible. I uploaded one of my pictures and they did nothing with it and I ended up with only two tokens left.
