Hey Bjørnar! As a MacBook Pro user with a TB3-Dockingstation for both composing and regular work (as you’ve described with another working laptop) the solution is great. Looking at the size of the MacBook and your idea of purchasing a 14“ MBP please keep in mind that the cooling is much better in the 16“ plus you’ll have no early throttling issues like the 14“ does due to its compact size and smaller vents. By the way : I really appreciate your work, always an inspiration for us composers 👍 As you’ve tested different DAWs Cubase stood out for me and a few weeks ago I switched from my beloved Logic Pro, as it isn’t that performant like Cubase is. Thanks for that review. Keep it going!

I bought a new 16" m3 max 14c for around 3000 euros. That was a nice deal. I hope to enjoy it while using it with Ableton 11.

Stiil, when going for Apple for professional use, imho it's better to go MacBook Pro route. With at least 16gb ram of course. And "basic" or +1 tier up CPU. Not maxed out one

I will probably get a MBAir 15 M3 with at least 16GB+512GB. I really want 1TB storage and maybe even 24GB RAM, but Apple makes me feel stupid paying that much for these upgrades. Regardless, I think the Air is more than powerful enough for my needs, of which the most demanding part is "intermediate music production" and some casual gaming and photo editing. Considering it has a large screen and is very portable (for the screen size), I dont really see the point in getting the Pro over the Air unless you really need that extra performance. And if you really need extra performance you should probably get the MAX version of the PRO which will then be a lot more expensive. But really wish I did not have to pay 50% extra for a 1TB 16GB MBAir over the entry level version!

I bought the m3 air and I absolutely love it! That cooling block looks interesting, didn’t know that was a thing (new to macs) Also, I watched your earlier video on the m1 for music production and that really helped me as I had been deciding to downsize my whole setup. I was having similar space issues lol

Looking for some feedback looking at a new m3 MacBook Pro, going to be utilizing ableton Live 12 mainly for house music production(fairly new user) with decent amount of plugins and tracks (average) not to small not to excessive! Looking for recommendations, aware of all the chatter performance cores vs efficiency, heating/fans! Wanting an M3 though still (as older v. are hard to find) looking for best recommendations on specs, do you think there will be any major drawbacks to not buy? So much info out there so looking for thoughts, mainly between pro chip with upgraded unified memory, or max? (Just heard of heating issues on max)

I see. so the PC builds aren't going to be examined anymore? I needed to know the performance of CPU's with high Plugin loads.
