Next Stop…New York City | RIVERFRONT Campground with a Skyline View & Drive-in! (EPISODE 258)
ℹ️ About this episode:
On this episode of LivinRvision, we visit New York City! We found a perfect campground that is right along the East River with a skyline view of Manhattan with water, electric, a dump station, shower and a drive-in, yes, a drive-in theater with three different movies! This is a perfect spot to keep your RV and take the ferry or subway to explore the city.
We were in New York City over ten years ago but there was a lot that we didn’t get to see then that we wanted to see this time.
The first day was late so we just walked the streets and visited the 911 Memorial and found what was probably the best gluten free pizza we have ever had!
The next morning we took the ferry over to Pier 11 again and walked over to take a cruise over to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, where we were able to find out some very interesting information about our grandparents.
The next day was a very busy day. We had to be up and ready before the sunrise to get down to the Rockefeller Plaza to see the Today Show live. We didn’t want to take any chances of getting there late so we scheduled an Uber that dropped us off right at The Plaza check-in for the show. The rest of the day we spent going up to the top of Rockefeller Center (Top Of The Rock) and the Empire State Building.
There’s a lot to see and learn in this episode, so enjoy the show!

I happen to have already seen a video about that artist that drew the city before. He's autistic, and has traveled the world and drawn many other cities. He even gets the exact number of windows right in every building, amazing.

Awesome video! Brian, you are my absolute favorite KZfaq cinematographer! You really have a way of capturing the moment that you’re in and an uncanny ability of conveying that emotion to your viewers. We really appreciate the effort that you and Michelle put into your videos. You are an inspiration to aspiring small channels like myself and I thank you for that.👍🏼😎

The Statue of Liberty ferry leaves from Castle Garden (large stone building) which was the immigration center up to the late 1800s. My Irish ancestors came through that building escaping the Potato Famine (1847, 1872) . My Croatian ancestors came through Ellis Island about 1907. You passed by DUMBO on the ferry from camping. The large glass building contains the historic merry go round from Idora Park in Youngstown Ohio now known as Jane's Carousel. I rode it through my childhood and even my kids experienced it.

Be sure to watch all videos regardless of what the title says. We include little things here and there throughout different videos in the past. We try not to show the same things over and over though to make them interesting for everyone. Also, we have an episode scheduled 2 weeks from today that may spark your interest. 😊🤓

You guys are brave. A lot of people does not equate safety, keep that head on a swivel. We grew up too close to NYC, but glad you had a good time. The 911 memorial is a must ! You did a great job of showing the beauty of NYC. As a firefighter family, we experienced 911 first hand and won’t ever go back to NYC.

That was a fantastic tour. I have no desire to go there but I can see how this would be a great way to experience it. The closest I got was Liberty Park in New Jersey and thought the skyline was pretty spectacular but since I don't do crowds, I'll probably never go into the city. Thank you for this great view of an interesting and fun place.

The newer iPhones take great videos but they lack in low light performance or any shots taken in the direction of a light source which is what causes the light orbs. Otherwise the quality is very good and hard for most people to tell the difference with a high end camera other. We used only the iPhone in this video to keep us looking more like a tourist. Used the DJI wireless mic. We’ve been using this setup a lot lately. Road shots are GoPro Hero11. We did recently buy a new Sony full frame camera that I am still trying to get used to. Not near as easy to operate. An iPhone and GoPro are so simple. Point and shoot and use cinematic mode for bokeh background.

It was getting close to supper time as mentioned and we needed to keep moving along to get to the 911 memorial eat and walk back to the ferry to make sure we caught it. As many know, Michelle and I love to read the headstones at old cemeteries. (Her probably more than I though) 😂 We could of spent quite a bit of time there if we had it.
