We live quite different lives but at any notice would be there for one another if we needed it so it works nicely. I live alone with my conditions and she has her family but we gather for birthdays and such events it's nice. I am so sorry to hear that :') I have that with my older step sister it was very toxic and we have zero communication now and honestly there's not much time, she's a bit older than I and that relationship sadly hasn't healed. If if there's any advice or really maybe a word I could say is it's okay. It's hard to endure life wanting to have had a better relationship with a sibling but not having it. You don't owe anyone in your life an explanation for not keeping that. If they ask and they will stick up for yourself to say you tried to make that relationship work but it shouldn't be held over you and keep you from living your life. They're not gonna want to it but you matter and if that relationship is toxic then what you say and feel matters for them to respect it and if they don't the sad reality is you must move without them because they will not respect your autonomy to move from that toxic relationship. I apologize to ramble as I am just a stranger but having a toxic relationship with my older half sister it's just something I must do she will not be in the lives of our family she didn't want to be and has not made the effort. It's okay for me to move on so I am positive it will be for you too and I am okay 🥹 it's always a soft spot but it's okay there's more to enjoy and it's fine to want only positives that's not selfish its self care.
