The BEST live version of this song in the entire internet.. Extremely loud, the bass is not from this world, Synths and drums are on point, Barney's vocals are excellent and the ,,bad" recording quality simply makes it even better!

Hooky said in an interview that ian would have been into blue monday big time and if he had survived odds are the band would have gone the same way anyway.

Best selling 12 inch single of all time and they lost money on it! the cover cost more than they sold the record for, so the more they sold the more they lost. All the money from Joy Division kept the Hacienda going which was losing thousands per week, Tony Wilson was a great bloke but a crap businessman, R.I.P Tony you will always be a legend

Bernard wasn't gay, he just hung out in gay discos during the '80's and because he's straight and had no sense of style, he adopted the gay look. He liked the music and made a lot of good music too, still is.

Thanx Nfiles, I was 14 in 1984, and the cold wave wasn't in my possibility of comprehension, so if i like well "Love will tear us apart" in 1980, and The Cure, when they play sometimes of the French Radio, i liked later at this time "Blue Monday" , the rythm (disco, thanx Peter "heavy Bass" Hook) and so much the ideas of dead people who maybe come back with their spirits on earth, and boats in ports, like the John Carpenter movies in that period. Viva the Dockers of all continents, and Britain

The sound of the bass at 0.47 sounds so powerful its like the ships horn blowing from some great ocean liner. I like how hook sounds and its pretty unique I play bass myself and you hear of all these so-called legends that move up the fretboard at 500 miles per hour. All very good, but they don't have a sound like this lol. Totally unique is oor Hooky!! Well done m8

I cannot recommend Peter Hooks book enough. I read a lot of biography type books, and his has to be, hands down, the most honest and in depth biography I've ever read. Very funny too. Seriously, if you like New Order and you like reading, you will not got wrong with Substance by Hooky.

This just brings back so many amazing memories I don't even know how to express them. I think the singer has a little lack of confidence here and there, not knowing which range to sing in, sometimes forgetting lyrics, misplacing, etc. But you know what? So what! It's brilliance! And I love the opening "Spanish" twist to the drums.
