Instead of worrying about who gets the ball if it's fumbled out of the end zone I'd like to see the league figure out how to bring the onside kick or an alternative back into the game

I'd say leave the Brotherly Shove in.....just make sure the Center isn't advancing the ball 2/3 of a yard before the snap, after the ball is set by the Refs.

A defenses job is to protect its end zone. If you lose the ball in the defenses home, you should lose the ball. Period. It's their end zone, it's essentially a recovery for the defense.

How is an offensive player fumbling the ball out of bounds, WITHOUT THE DEFENSE EXPLICITLY RECOVERING IT, a recovery for the defense? Take your philosophical thoughts out of it and just think about that objectively. I am neither pro-offense, nor pro-defense in this conversation. Anything other than viewing such plays in an isolated manner makes absolutely no sense, and lends itself toward a slippery slope. I can make an argument on each side of the debate. "It's the defense's end zone" - sure, but what about the offense that just drove an entire length of playing field to get to that sub-1 yard line? Does the defense deserve to be rewarded for giving up a 98 yard drive only to get lucky on a fumble? If you don't want them 'rewarded' for fumbling at the end zone, then don't let them get there! "It's the defense's end zone" - why should the same offense that just drove down the field, but can't punch it in as easily be rewarded for temporarily losing possession of the ball at the final yard marker? If they can't take care of the ball, then they shouldn't! See? For every point made on each side, there is a tricky one that can be made on the other. It's a difficult subject! I have faith the league will find a fair way to address it.

If you kickoff or punt and the ball goes out the opposing teams endzone IT IS A TOUCHBACK AND CHANGE OF POSSESION. It the OPPONENTS endzone ... their territory... if you fumble the ball into the opponents "base" thats your mistake and its their ball now. If they change the rule that means if a player drops the ball before he crosses the line celebrating early and it goes out the endzone thenwhat they get a mulligan their ball on the 1,5,10? No... thats dumb. it doesn't need to change. whats happens if the guy fumbles it out 3rd & goal at the 1 tie ball game with a minute in the game.... you mean to tell me the offense should get the ball back to givebit another go? but what if it went out on the 1 inch line... ok didnt get fumbled out the endzone .. if yountackle someone on their own 1 foot line they have the ball on the 1 foot line ne but if you tackle them in their own endzone a foot the other way youd not only get the ball youd get 2 points. Its really kinda dumb to think it needs to be changed

I didn’t go to many Dolphins games but I went to the Steelers game back in Troy’s rookie year. They put him back to return a punt and I said to my friends, I wish they didn’t put him back there, and sure enough they took his knee out. We were sitting in that end zone, 2nd row. Just ruined the game. Still remember that like I’m sitting there now.

I hate the "Brotherly Shove" because it is NOT an American football quarterback sneak. It is a variation of a rugby driving maul. It should be banned. The reasoning that the NFL doesn't want to remove it because the Eagles have a rugby driving maul variation other NFL teams haven't learned how to perform is ridiculous. Other NFL teams don't know how to defend or perform the "Brotherly Shove" because it is NOT an American football quarterback sneak.

If you want to remove the helmet as a weapon, the answer is easy. Take the face masks off the helmets, and players will quit using them as such. When they wore leather helmets with no masks, players used their arms to tackle ball carriers, and made hits with their shoulders and bodies.

Don't drop the tush push but I could list countless things taken from great defenses and defenders to help the offense and had nothing to do with the defense's abilitie to excute said play. Gotta love the unfair hand of the NFL. Yet defenders gotta be great and overcome while offense gets to play on easy mode and still can't score on their own because big brother won't let them solve it on their own without help.

Rich's stance on the fumble out the end zone is laughable. if the rule changes it should be any fumble out of bounds should change possession, you gotta protect the ball.

He might be right, but the canned statements sound like Political Bullshit and make the point badly. The least he could do is memorize the three places Kazee played and level with Rich by relating his awareness of the Steelers’ cultural problem rn re: “toughness” and the old “Steeler Way.” This does nothing to help Tomlin with the “playing soft” issue that Big Ben (rightly or wrongly) is pointing out.

The Brotherly shove leave it alone. There is nothing wrong with it. Eagles are not winning with it that's how you stop them. Is you don't let them get in a position to use it. I'm a faithful and I'm love they use it because they still lost 42 to 19
