I got to spend a couple of hours with Alexander Mattison. I asked if he thought he could have made in hoops. He said not in a damn chance he'd have been able to be succesful at basketball. He said he wasn't a small back, but he couldn't make it with those big guys. He did say he'd encourage his kids to play baseball over football if he were to set them on a path.

Love the segment! Especially the football to basketball reality. I played some football as a kid (Guard) and NT varsity football overseas on a military base (no where near the level of competition stateside) and if you do not have that dawg mentality you have already lost. You can't take plays off or your azz is on the ground not feeling too good. Today's basketball is already soft compared to decades prior. With that being said, I would pay to see these guys exposed to the elements of football. Especially when it's below freezing, rain, wind, altitude, and not in a climate controlled environment with no pads lol My basketball skills suck, but I could have made the team because of my 3 point shooting lol

Football demands much more. I don't see lebron being able to read a defense, run sharp routes, shadow a WR, swim move an O Lineman, prevent a pass rush, tackle a grinder RB, choosing the right gap to shoot, etc, etc. Not to mention the required toughness to get hit by a top tier athlete for an hour. They'd be lucky to be promoted out of the practice squad.

@@Ryanh1010 The topic was nfl football, which bron could never play. Being a better athlete than everyone else has made many HS players look great. Means nothing at a higher level. No player could go from 1 league to the other and look good. The sports are too different.

Hitting an open shot vs running the ball up the gut on 4th and 2 are two completely different things. Terrible comparison. Why not compare bringing the ball up full court for a layup while being pressed by prime Scottie Pippen and Marcus Smart, vs kicking a FG? Thinking bron could play in the nfl is way off, even with how soft the nfl is today. He's too weak for the watered down modern nba. And Zion is hurt so often I forgot he was still active. The 2 sports are too different to think guys could go from 1 to another and be anything other than a novelty. Current nfl players in the nba would put up numbers like bron's kid did in college...

I think Maye sits. He already had issues with accuracy before he was drafted. I don't know why we're all surprised. For some reason people forced themselves to believe he's some top prospect. 3rd Round QB at best. Just my opinion, don't be super sensitive ya'll lol

@@TheUndefeatedOfTheEast Go watch every throw from every QB taken this year and tell me where you would have drafted him. And don’t pay attention to the helmets and who they are playing against. Just the throws, complete or incomplete. Lmk what you think no matter the outcome. Even if by some stretch of the imagination he is in your top 5 (I'd be highly surprised). Please be neutral even if you know I’m right lol.

I genuinely think you don’t know how to evaluate qb talent if you think Maye was a 3rd round talent. Just because Nix, Penix, and Daniels are years older and played college 4-5 years doesn’t mean they are better. They were all in better situations than Maye, and Maye had way more big time throws and flashes than those guys. He also displayed a wider variety of throws, leading to less accuracy. Not making excuses, he’s still flawed like any prospect. Just giving proper context is important,
