EA seriously just needs to take the year off and not release a new NHL this fall. We don't want another NHL 15 on the new consoles. Features that were on NHL 14 never even returned to the current gen which also was a disappointment. We seriously need 2K to come back and make a new hockey game because right now EA is just so damm lazy with their hockey games to innovate anything new.

Well there's always the chance that EA releases NHL 21 for 8th gen while the 9th gen(next-gen) has to wait like what happened during this console cycle.

Geek Entertainment competition with 2k won't solve anything. Look at FIFA 20 and pes 2020. FIFA has competition but there are still many flaws in the game that have been in the game for half a decade

NHL 20 is a game where it seems you could ram your opponent with a freight truck, nuke him, turn his stick to saw dust, send the dust to NASA, shoot the dust to Pluto and they still are able to pass the puck to another player. It just hilarious at times

I’ll never understand why this never comes out on PC... or Switch, I wouldn’t mind a less graphically intense version. But I’m not going to buy a PS4 or Xbox just for one game.. so I’ve been without NHL since the last one on 360 and I’m sad 😕 especially now that there won’t even be playoffs on tv this year 😭

are you telling me nhl 20 is rated only .1 less than the final fantasy 7 remake? i like nhl 20 but its so similar to nhl 19 that it shouldnt really be here

It's a great game for casual gamers. In the free to play modes, there is almost nothing to play for apart from fun after about 30 or 40 games. No matter the mode, apart from the monetized HUT, you stop unlocking things besides cosmetics so quickly it makes the grind not enjoyable. In the old NHL's, reaching max rank (which gave you an attribute boost!) would take 350 games played! The review is mostly spot on, but to me that equates to a 6/10.

I have literally 12 synergies activates for my team, spent probably $600 on hut packs just cause.. and honestly my team is garbage? Slow, can’t receive passes, shots are garbage.. like what EA? Anybody else find that synergies and having 95+ players is worthless?

Yes, stats and synergies don't matter when the core gameplay is completely broken, EA doesnt care though cause they have your money.

Yup, just get players you like you'll have more fun in the long run. Every time I grab a 200k+ player they play like garbage. Fave player is an 89 Couturier

And climb up the Standings in our new Club ranking system 'Leagues' - We have brought back our ea pucks and have created a market to buy accessories, can be earned in any mode you play on your account and is also in our EASHL, clubs will have ea pucks to purchase items in the market. -A few additions has been added to our drop in system. The Pond is a place your gowing skater can go to play on one of many rinks on The Pond where you can sign up for 1's or 3's eliminator, or just a pickup game of 3's. Gaining EA pucks while you grow your skater can earn you cool gear at the skate shop. -We have created a whole new Club ranking system. League's you will play in a Season like a Junior Franchise with a fan base and an arena to look after but with Ea pucks coming back you can make your arena yours faster. Your position in the standings matter because you need to make playoffs to move on the the next League.

Along with all the major problems this game needs fixing the thing I believe needs to be fixed that I surprisingly haven’t heard anyone mention is not being able to skate and stick handle simultaneously. Every time you use the right stick the player starts to glide and stops striding this is unbelievably ridiculous! Nhl players are professionals and they can without a doubt stick handle while accelerating skating it is so annoying how you just glide every time you start Delong around. And also fix the damn passing I’m tired of passing the puck directly into the defensive players body every time I have a 2 on 1 breakout play.

NHL has decent enough gameplay but Madden is just pure garbage to me. The issue with pretty much every sports game like this is that they charge you 60 bucks every year for basically a roster update, and maybe some quality of life improvements.

It’s 11 bucks on pan now. Still not worth what they are asking for a roster update. How long will EA reign for idk but their end is coming. Horrible games they are making. I swear if they didn’t own the right and long contracts I’m sure someone else would take over. But since there no one to challenge major sports give it to them almost automatically.
