Leafs overpaid slightly but that offence is looking nasty. Now time to ship off Holl for a competent D man and the Leafs are looking like real contenders.

ROR stats are impaired by a bad team so hes better then this season stats show, also one of the best faceoff takers and defensive players in the league still, so much depth with this pick

As a blues fan we got a good return, but this was so unessacary, we traded senko Bc he wanted out. I think ror was here for the long haul

As a blues fan im happy he can play hockey that matters, plus, we can resign him next year. Its a win win. ROR deserves more than to play on this mediocre team. And now he can.

I agree with the other reply here. We can resign him after the end of this year and if his season still isn't too productive with Toronto, hopefully with him at 31 years old and all he might look for a cheaper contract. Something in the 7mil range for 5 years or so would be nice.

@@WaddickLawnCare I thought he was 31! My bad. Then yeah I don't see him resigning with the Blues unless he's down to stay in a 7 mil range for 3-4 years. It wouldn't be an amazing contract, but I think it would be fair for all he does defensively.

The Leafs have always been close to going deep in the playoffs. They can add good players each time but without real heart and killer instinct they will fail. This acquisition is promising. They showed stronger will against Tampa last year than the year previous against Montreal but they must summon a fierceness from their psyches if they want to go deep into the playoffs and ultimately challenge for the Stanley Cup.

The Blues really like trading for no potential minor leaguers. And ROR probably won't come back in the offseason when he can see the franchise isn't interesting in winning. They had looked real good since he got back from injury and were moving up in the standings and then they dump him. No way a veteran like him would want to come back to that kind of franchise.

Way way they should be playing him as a 3c. Would be such a waste, he’s not having the best year but the blues as a whole have been bad. These last two years have been pretty fun trade-wise. Hopefully the trade deadline is exciting as well.
