I honestly don't even think the 6-1 scoreline does this game justice. The Canes were so thoroughly dominant, they could've easily scored another 2 or 3 goals.

Yea I think they controlled 50 of the 60 minutes. I think the Devils legit played incredibly well for the first 10mins of the first...they got counter-punched to make it 1-1 by the end of the period and I think they just were never able to get back into the game. Seemed like Jordo's line was really able to effectively smother Jack Hughes' line, which Carolina wasn't able to do in Game 3. Hope Carolina can close it out Thursday.

NJ fans arent doing their team any favors walking out early. If you cant support your team when they are down, you dont deserve to cheer when they are winning. Canes fans stay with their team all the way to the end regardless and that fuels carolinas comeback wins in the 3rd.

New Jersey have outperformed their expectations from the beginning of the season (and had a successful season), but a lot of their fans were getting ahead of themselves against the Rangers. This is a reality check for the Devils.

Their coach Rod Brind’Amour has a system where it provides a very overwhelming forecheck, as well as all 5 players on the ice on the offense. Canes D had the highest amount of goals in franchise history, and 2 D men had double digit goals. The forecheck suffocates offenses across the league, it’s what they do to every team. To say I’m proud of them is an understatement. I never had them making it this far.

As I said last post, we need to find a way to stop the Canes stretch passes along with the quick tips into the middle of the ice that they use to advance into the neutral zone without having to out-skate us, this also prevents us from getting turnovers on the rush because the puck spends such a little amount of time in the neutral zone. SECONDLY we have to find a way to counter act there 1, 2, 2 fore-check, it suffocates us in our own end and causes mayhem and is preventing us from getting the puck out of our own end.

I give the Devils goalie credit for not just walking off the ice during that 5 minute barage. Because that was the most Bush league crap I've ever seen from an NHL team, let alone in the playoffs. It didn't even look like the Devils were TRYING after they scored in the first period

Tough night for Luke Hughes. -3 on the night and just seemed lost in his defensive zone a lot of the night. Kids young and shoved into a series later than he should have been in game 1 imo. Him and Jack are the future of the Devils

Neither Hughes has a clue defensively. With Jack it's understandable, that's not why he's on the ice, but Luke needs AHL time to try to learn how at least the basics of defending.

I've said it all series, but it ain't over til someone wins 4 games. I'm not gonna count the Debs out til they're home on the couch they've at least earned that amount of respect finishing 3rd in the whole league in points only behind my Canes and the Bruins. They're a young team with a lot of upside and they are sure to give my Canes fits for the forseeable future in the Metro if they do their off season moves right. That said, hell of a game from my Canes, hopefully they'll come out and be that dominant again on Thursday at home.

I had just said it feels like every game this playoffs has either been an overtime win or it’s been a blow out. Granted I can’t keep up with every single playoff game, but it certainly seems like there’s hasn’t been anything in the middle between blow out win and overtime win.

Vanacek and Seginhaller are terrible. Probably the worse D/Goalie combo in the playoffs. Desharnais and Skinner on the Oilers are 2nd worse.

REALITY; The Devils got a few good games from Akira Schmid and it was JUST enough to beat the Rags in 7 - i said at the time he didnt have it in him to take the on a run and clearly the staff agrees but who knows, Schmid'll prob be back next game but its also a ust win so who knows...i just knew they had agood run of Schmid (cuz the 3 wins he got htem were tight/OT games minus the last one) but it wouldnt last and whaddaya know, the Dev's are getting exposed by a Carolina team thats good not great - i mean theyre very similar to last years team who the rangers eliminated in round 2 just sayin...

Ну че видимо уже изначально вышли сливать. После 1 периода перестали играть решили что победили со счётом 1:0.Увидев в воротах Ванечека убедился что слив будет 100%.Это дырень ещё та. Пускал откуда только не кидали, потом решили выпустить Шмида. Уже было поздно.
