Cam Talbot turned away a ridiculous 49 shots while Alex DeBrincat scored in regulation and collected the shootout-winning goal as the Ottawa Senators defeated the Boston Bruins 3-2.

Such a fun game to be at! That deBrusk goal was really crazy and unique. I’ve been to both Sens and bruins games this year and both have been fantastic. Go Sens Go!

For the people complaining about the lack of a to many men call. Rule 71 - Premature Substitution. At the discretion of the on-ice officials, should a substituting player come onto the ice before his teammate is within the five foot (5’) limit of the players’ bench (and therefore clearly causing his team to have too many players on the ice), then a bench minor penalty may be assessed. When a player is retiring from the ice surface and is within the five foot (5’) limit of his players’ bench, and his substitute is on the ice, then the retiring player shall be considered off the ice for the purpose of Rule 70 - Leaving Bench.

Let’s educate everyone on the NHL rules ! Rule 74 - Too many men on the ice 74.1 If in the course of a substitution either the player(s) entering the play or the player(s) retiring is struck by the puck accidentally, the play will not be stopped and no penalty will be called.

Worst part was the ref sitting on the Sens bench watching the players get off and on the ice.

It wasn’t a « premature » substitution (5 feet limit) and the player was accidentally struck with the puck and didn’t play it. According to the rule it was the right call.

@@gratts3521 if he's the 6th man on the ice and touches the puck regardless of intention, it's a penalty. Pretty simple. Refs missed it. It's a weak *win* by the Sens.

One team had to win. It was an even played game through the first 2 periods. 3rd period Boston really put it on against us. OT was even though so I wish OT can be continuous because both teams had amazing chances.

How are there so many Bruins fans at a game in Ottawa? That's a 7 hour drive + an international border. I'd imagine flights aren't too frequent or cheap between the two cities either.

We have lots of bruins fans here in Canada. Especially in Toronto! Go to a leafs Vs bruins game and it’s 70% leafs fans and 30% bruins lol. Same in Ottawa as well. They got a really good but toxic fan base.

West end Ottawa has a lot of Irish roots. Especially in the west end. Before we got the Sens 30 years ago, I remember a lot of the kids I went to school with were Bruins fans.

Most of the seats in the section 1 were Boston Fans... they ponied up the cash for the expensive seats. Most of the rest were Ottawa fans (for some reason a few leaf fans showed up, lol)... the split was about 65:35 Ottawa to Boston.

These offside calls are getting ridiculous. It shouldn't matter if a player is a fraction of a hair offside. It didn't impact the play. The exact same thing would've happened had his skate been ⅛ of a CM closer. It should be one of those judgment calls that refs love to make.
