He played against a 3rd string goalie(Cal Petersen who turned out to be a LA Kings draft bust) who is backing up Ersson(was backing up Hart earlier in the season) because Carter Hart is under investigation for sexual assault charges a long with 4 other players(Hart being charged is pending, if he is found to be guilty or not). Both teams played sloppy hockey that wouldn't hold up in a playoff series. Shots were going in from all angles and defensive structure was poor for both teams. Crosby is still a good, talented player, but there are numerous other players I rather watch than Crosby!

@@MandatoryFruit If no one did then I led the way for ppl to speak up. I get it, Crosby is a generational talent that Pens fans love. As a Caps fan, I somewhat feel the same way with Ovechkin, but I don't go boasting/bragging about Ovechkin like a handful of ppl did after this game on this comments section. Crosby is a great talent, but a person who never learned to mature like a normal adult. He still whines a lot when things don't go his way and he never gives respect or credit to his opponent. This result is what happens to a teenager that was basically coddled and not allowed to grow up going through normal adolescence. Quite frankly, I get sick of the still preferential treatment he gets from some refs. A lot of NHL players can't play Crosby the way they play against other players, due to they are worried they will be called for a penalty against him. Crosby will get away with stuff that could surely be called for a penalty.

@37 Actually, the Penguins are 17th in points percentage, which puts them in the bottom 16. Crosby has turned a bad team into an average one. Very few players have had that kind of impact this season.

It's hard to win the Hart when your team doesn't make the playoffs. Pittsburgh is still 9 points back despite the win.

⁠@@jamescash887Crosby isn’t the whole team. Hockey is a team sport, in 2003 the penguins were 23-47-8 with the great Mario Lemieux. Did that mean he wasn’t a good player? Hockey isn’t a game where only one person can carry a team.

Islanders are slumping, as are the Devils(they should have acquired a goalie already, Lindy Ruff could lose his job). It opens the door for the Caps/Pens to sneak in if they can go on good winning streaks.

I guess neither team wanted to win play defense today. Philadelphia goaltending was abysmal but Pittsburgh wasn’t that much better. I am a Capitals fan and I am thoroughly disappointed with both Washington and Pittsburgh. We are usually very competitive and I get excited to see if we will face off in the playoffs.
