How many times have I had to say it? Nylander doesn't back check or play defense. If he loses the puck and the opponent is on his way towards the Leafs zone, he'll either slowly work his way to the Leafs blue line but no further or he just leaves the ice completely.

We have one of the best forwards (Matthews ) along with Marner and Nylander the problem here is that our defense is weak so I am not blaming Samsonov for the lost. But as a proud leafs fan that I am You can't win them all but I can assure you that the leafs will be in the playoffs this season.

Samsonov doesn't get most of the blame in my books, the Leafs looked lifeless, they weren't even close to matching the Knights intensity.

@GloryHole6000 He played poorly at the start of the season, which everybody is aware of. Jones stepped in and did well but as of late, Sammy has been the superior goalie of those 2. Both goalies have been allowing too many goals but when your PP d consists of guys like Nylander, odds are the other team is going to score. When the defense does its job then the Leafs allow far less goals but when the coach doesn't know how run his lines, it's going to be an issue. Just think of how many goals Brodie and Nylander have been responsible for against, with tip ins, out of position, screening, being lazy and/or, skating off the ice while the opposition has the puck in the Leafs end. If Woll comes back and is what he was before getting hurt, I'd put Woll in, but between Sammy and Jones, right now, Sammy is the better goalie.

I guess because of pride, the refs felt back for the Vegas players and gave them alot better and more opportunities with all the PP
