Auston Matthews picked up his 30th goal of the season with the OT-winner and Morgan Rielly tallied a pair of assists as the Toronto Maple Leafs pulled out a win despite a 55-save performance from Lukas Dostal defeating the Anaheim Ducks 2-1.

Dostal did so well, everyone has forgot about Leafs goalie Jones, he played back to back nights and only let in 1 goal on 57 shot total both nights. Not bad for an old guy on a sub 1 million contract!

Bummer that the Ducks didn’t get the win for Dostal, but glad they got a point. He was fantastic; often is. Great game for the Leafs. Jones is doing just as well as I hoped. Awesome goaltending all around.

Great effort by Dostal, one of the best efforts in a loss since i watched Shtalenkov hold the Wings into OT back in the 97 playoffs. Deserved a better result for the performance.

To me, this is one of the best wins the Leafs have had this season. Now I know many people will say the current Leafs should always be expected to beat the current Ducks, and to those people I would say you are absolutely correct. The way the Leafs played, they definitely deserved the win. That being said, how many times have we seen games where the Leafs were expected to win, were playing in a way that would make them deserving of a win, yet lose and the only reason why is because they were goalie'd? It's refreshing and encouraging to see them close out a game like this.

now is the leafs has a goalie that is confident like dostal, the team would prosper but they need to work on all aspects of the game. both goalies performances were top notch.

Pretty crazy the Ducks had 28 shots on goal and yet the Leafs managed to more than double that. Matthews with 13 by himself and him, Marner and Nylander had as many as the entire Ducks team. Between the night before vs the Kings and this game Matthews easily could have had 5 or 6 goals, winds up with 1. Still 30 goals in 36 games isn’t bad. 😉Dostal stands on his head. Martin Jones is playing great. 2 of the best games the Leafs have played all season.

Do any other teams get an instigator and game misconduct when they fight after a hit? It happens constantly and I've only ever seen them get 5 each, why was this different?

@@stormypinkness4030 ah I misunderstood your comment my apologies, um well the instigator was for starting the fight (Can’t start fights in this league anymore, no matter the circumstances) As for the misconduct, I’m assuming he said something to McMann after the hit, and it wasn’t tasteful which would make sense since his teammate was hit hard into the boards, emotions were probably high said the wrong thing and that’s why he got the misconduct. My guess
