@@HarryOsborneAS31 Not sure if there was a call in the regular season where that interference was allowed and Toronto benefitted, and then in the playoffs it was waived off. But that Tavares goal was clearly interference on Holl.

@@asharpbflat7179the Calgary player deflected the puck with his hand, which allowed the puck to stay on the zone, and off his hand it went straight to the other Calgary guy's stick, which technically is a hand pass, even though he did not properly control the puck. And because of that play, the Calgary goal was scored. If the Flames player doesn't hand pass there, the play would be dead on the Neutral Zone for re-entry

it doesn't matter if he has control if he intentionally tries to deflect it or touch it with his hand and then a teammate touches it next it is hand pass. It doesn't matter how little he touched it of if he had possession he intentionally touched the puck and his teammate got it touched it.

@@troybabs I understand that you don't agree with the call but that is the official rule and the refs made the right decision. but i do agree that what happened shouldn't be considered a hand pass. but if you look at the official rule book it was the correct call.

@@JamieWarbeck yeah I understand the rule, I just dont think that was the intent when they made the rule. It was to stop someone from grabbing it and tossing it to their teammate. Just reading the rule too literally. Just like "kicking the puck", the kicking motion, if he is in the act of stopping and moves his foot towards the puck, they consider that a kicking motion not the act of stopping. That wasn't the intent of the rule, but the decision changes based on who is in the situation room the day it happens.

@@JB0i Tavares is washed, marner is streaky, Reilly is decent the majority of the time but he isn’t what he used to be, nylander is a floater who only put all that effort in earlier in the season cause it was contract time. Now he has 2 points in 5 games and if you watch he’s back to giving 50% every night. 11X8 😬

@@ebmckay Team was crapping the bed 2-0. He got out there and took charge. saved a few goal chances by solid stripping players of the puck defensively. Tavares has the personality of a pickle. He;s slow and can't really take control of games.

Stopped the puck from leaving the zone with his hand and it went straight to a teammate's stick so counts as a hand pass. Keefe should thank his lucky stars.

As a Leafs fan, obviously I'm happy to see any goal against the Leafs called back But, I do believe disallowing a goal for something that happened that far back is a bit much, and is probably not good for the game. I would be pissed if a Leafs goal got called back for that.

@@shelroda9089 Exactly, but he did just enough to keep his job and the mediocrity for the Leafs will remain until he's gone and they give Berube a shot. Leafs could go on a streak now until the playoffs but it's all for naught unless Keefe can get his team deep in the playoffs. He's not the guy for that, we know it, but Treliving and Shanny don't. Meantime, Leafs will continue to win enough for him to keep his job.

Time to bench Giordano. He first scores on his own goalie, and then when Jones is just about to cover the puck with his glove, Giordano knocks it away from him and right to Mangiapane's feet for another goal against Jones.

@@gilbertayala1069 I'm watching the game in this video. Which one are you watching? At 7:23, You can see the puck is right in front of Jones. He starts to scoop it towards himself, and is about to put his glove over it to stop the play, but as he's almost there, Giordano swings around and knocked the puck out with his stick. Watch Jones stick - Giordano actually whacks Jones' stick. You can see Jones' stick suddenly change direction when Giordano hits it. The puck darts over to Mangiapane's feet, and he kicks it towards the net. Giordano caused that puck to end up in the net.

Yes, he has experienced a rapid regression of late. The deflection seems to be more of a case of bad luck. Taking the puck away from his own goalie was more troubling.

I'm certainly glad the Leafs won, because we badly needed this win. But quite frankly, that hand pass call was beyond ridiculous! The tying goal should have counted.

Honestly I think Brad Trevling shouldn’t make any moves at the deadline let this team ride it out because in the offseason Toronto will have 25m to spend and they also have 3 d man who are pending UFAS I see this team way better defensively due to there prospects coming up and goaltending AND it’s easy to sign other UFAS in the offseason then giving away solid picks for washed up blueliners like tanev lol let’s be real and think of how much money they can spend in the offseason on actual good d man.

All these years later Giordano & Brodie playing with the Leafs. They were both good Flames but couldn't get the Flames anywhere in the playoffs (when they made it) and now, as old men, are being depended upon by the Leafs to do what they couldn't do when they were young. But it looks like they had good games in this one.

This kinda stuff makes the game hard to watch. Need time limits on a lot of this stuff. Same with offside reviews from 44 years ago. If everyone missed it and and a coach didn’t challenge it within 15 seconds the play continues

The Calgary player deflected the puck with his hand, which allowed the puck to stay on the zone, and off his hand it went straight to the other Calgary guy's stick, which technically is a hand pass, even though he did not properly control the puck. And because of that play, the Calgary goal was scored. If the Flames player doesn't hand pass there, the play would be dead on the Neutral Zone for re-entry and if they DID re-entry right away, the whole Flames team would be offside, so not a good goal

Where's the "hand pass"? I replayed 5 times and nothing. IF the hand pass is not evident in that sequence, then I have to wonder if the refs were delinquent (one more time) and should have called it AS IT HAPPENED. This delayed (neglected) call by refs has got to be addressed! I'm a Leafs fan, but fair is fair.

Vladar played outstanding, and his team really let him down. Have to question how and why Calgary's D was mismatched so frequently. Hanafin is 50% awesome and 50 trash%.

How could Marner miss the empty net? The first time was understandable as he was in the leafs zone but in the second chance, he was within shooting distance. Nonetheless, the Leafs got a much needed win as they’ve lost 5 games in a row.

Almost blown another 2 goal lead. Marner missed 2 open nets. Matthews is the MVP without him the leafs are a bottom team.

Man, a lot of unlucky bounces and deflections tonight but Matthews and the team made it work for a change. Hopefully they keep this momentum going. Detroit and Tampa are right there, but for now, let's just celebrate

@@Kg-nu7kh the Calgary player deflected the puck with his hand, which allowed the puck to stay on the zone, and off his hand it went straight to the other Calgary guy's stick, which technically is a hand pass, even though he did not properly control the puck. And because of that play, the Calgary goal was scored. If the Flames player doesn't hand pass there, the play would be dead on the Neutral Zone for re-entry. I know the third goal was valid because of Lilly's stick. I was just countering the argument here, because I know the rules and I am not complaining about the third goal. You sit down, bruh

Wouldn't say the Leafs played a great game, but a win is a win. Flames scored a couple fluky goals to keep them in it, but Matthews was on tonight.
