If the leafs hadn’t scored I would have burnt my jersey, it was basically a 5 on 1 (the power play had ended but the penalized Philly player didn’t make it)

@@905kadin8 during this game? I don't think so. His goal was 82 mph and that's pretty standard for him to be in that 80-84 mph range for his wrist shots and high 80s to 90 for one timers.

Almost as wild as the Flyers first goal actually being called a trip, or rather the play that lead to the power-play. I know McCabe did trip the guy, but it had zero effect on the play. There's no reason for the refs to call anything there. They should officiate those situations like soccer refs: "play on, advantage".

He wasn't scoring, wasn't getting assists, no hustle, wasn't hitting or fighting, 5.5m in cap just skating around and lord knows the Leafs got enough of that going on.

@paulthompson8793 The problem is, "fans" do that to pretty much every player at some point during the season. How can you talk sh*t about a player then act like you knew he had it all along. During his cold stretch, so many wanted Marner traded, bought out, he's garbage, etc. Real fans are very hard to come by these days. I've said how I feel about certain things and they've never changed, but I've never called any player "garbage" for any reason at all. Look at the disrespect Sammy got when he was dealing with his issues. Now, those same people act like he's a God. It's truly disgusting.

I'd be curious to see if Keefe puts the original idea they had from the beginning of the year for the first line back together when Marner returns . That being Bertuzzi-Matthews-Marner . Matthews read where Bertuzzi was going to be like a book on that first goal . Chemistry is key .

The play-by-play commentator in this broadcast is very, very bad at his job. The word score, when referring to the act of potting a single goal, is verb, not a noun. Don't say 'another score' from Toronto. You say 'another goal' from Toronto. The word score, as a noun, in hockey, refers to the total number of goals accumulated up to that point. The 'score' is 2-1 for the Flyers. Otherwise, score is used as a verb or an adjective, as in 'Matthew Knies scores' or the Leafs have two very potent 'scoring' lines. I don't know why there are so many broadcasters now who cannot understand and properly speak the English language any longer. It is pretty sad. Another term commonly being misused is 'turns it over'. That means you gave up the puck, not that you stole it. Turning the puck over means losing possession. Where are they getting these people?
