Oilers fan here. Canucks are playing exceptionally well against all teams and have already established themselves as cup contenders. I remember Canucks last year struggling with boudreau and I felt bad. Good to see them turn it around. Most canucks fan understand the situation the Oilers are in because they've been there. I only hope the Oilers turn it around somehow but its still good to see our neighbor to the west doing well!

One thing the Canucks do much better than the Oilers is taking a loss with composure. Demko bailed out the Canucks big time early in the first, At one point, the shots were 19-2 in favour of the Oilers! Demko kept it a one goal game and then the Canucks offense takes off. Captain Quinn Hughes with a 4-point night and JT Miller with a Gordie Howe Hat-trick. A very feisty game!

Every goalie in the league sets that pick. Mike Smith used to use his stick and blocker and keep everyone 6 feet away. I hope the refs allow everyone to run the goalie, THE NHL would suddenly be more interesting.

I have no doubt McBaby will turn it on at some point but it won't really change the fundamental problems the Oilers have. The Canucks aren't going to keep this pace up either but that won't change the fundamental reality that this is not the same canucks team as last year....like you probably think. The D is good. Better than the Oilers by a mile and that's probably not going to change. Canucks have much more depth up front and that's probably not going to change. And the canucks are unlikely to completely collapse with regards to effort level and buy-in to the systems play. Especially now that they've had a good taste of what it does. So yeah....see you in March and April. I can practically smell the lack of confidence in your last sentence. lol.

Sharks fans owe it to the Oilers as the Oilers are going to be the talk of the year now rather than the Sharks being historically bad. Being god awful is one thing when it’s expected, but being god awful when you had the highest odds to win the Cup is just unfathomable. Canucks and Oilers essentially swapped seats, but even then Canucks weren't this low. I chose the perfect time to get back into watching the Canucks!

McDavid looks like he shouldn't even be playing at the NHL level right now, He looks completely confused & lost out on the ice... The only way Draisital was even able to score a goal tonight was because He had an empty net to shoot at after Demko was tripped by an Oilers player, which CLEARLY should have been called an interference penalty... I predict the Oilers head coach will be FIRED after the Oilers next game against the Sharks... On a different note, that goal by JT Miller in the 3rd period was an absolute rocket!! Canucks go 3 for 6 on the powerplay as they continue to look like a top contender in the NHL this season... Canucks look to keep the momentum rolling as they head out on a 3 game canadian road trip to play the Senators, Leafs, & Canadiens...

Every other game it would've been called interference. Not goalie interference because he played the puck. Still took his feet out. It's interference, or even tripping. Regardless, it should've been an obvious call. I've seen that called countless times when a goalie plays the puck.

Not goalie interference cuz not in crease. Not normal interference cuz he touched the puck, to me it looked like it shoulda been called due to tripping because of the angle of the camera. In reality it was a hip check that brought him down

I give all the credit for the success the Canucks have had so far this season to Rick Tocchet. He has the entire team playing hard. No one is slacking right now. That all started when he took over as coach last year after the management screwed over Bruce, and left him dangling. Tocchet took over, and got the team playing well enough to drop out of the top 10 in the draft. That pissed me off. But it is nice to know that it wasn't just a fluke, and they have carried on winning this year. I was sad to see Bruce go, but looking at how well Tocchet has them playing this year, he is clearly the best coach for this lineup.

Quinn Hughes is the early hart winner so far. 2nd in league points right now only behind Pettersson while playing defense. I know It's only 12 games into the season, but I really can't see many forwards getting more points than him unless McDavid really picks up pace and gets like 50 points in the next 20 games... 100 points for Quinn Hughes should be a Hart trophy win if Vancouver makes the playoffs.

Shots were 19:2 in the Oilers' favour at one point in the first, but Demko stood on his head to keep the Canucks in until the offence woke up... I have worries that the team is still relying so much on Demko's heroics, but at the same time, in a game where they started that way, they still found a way to chip things away and earned a rather dominant win at the end. Yes, it is against a very fragile Oilers team, but it was still very, very nice to see.

Do Rangers fans worry about Shesterkin holding them in games until their offence wake up? Not bloody likely. Demko is part of the Canucks team. He is doing his job. He has been a great goalie for years. As long as he stays healthy I don't see him falling flat on his face for any extended period of time.

Oilers should trade Drai and McDavid and get a huge haul and start over. These two refuse to lead or play the right way. They will never win with these two. They are not leaders and happy collecting empty stats. They havent made anyone around them better and refuse to play D, and get visibly rattled and salty when things go wrong. it is amazing

Oilers have failed to build a good enough team around these 2 superstars, that's not the player's fault. Oilers have a horrible D core, sketchy goalies, and no scoring depth up front. Can't expect McD and Drai to hard carry every game, but at least everyone gets to see what the team is when they're not in god mode.

and the award for worst sportsmanship goes to........ Connor mcmuffin. Honestly can't believe how Edmonton doesn't get that being a sore loser doesn't get you anywhere, just goes to show how much the canucks are under their skin! funny how the analyst are commending or calling it playing with heart, Edmontons core gave up and started playing dirty, complaining to the refs, like if Canucks stars did this no one would be happy with them. Edmonton could have clawed back in the game other teams do it all the time, instead they let their goalie hang out to dry.
