They so often perform as bad as the sharks...against teams with crappy records...lol. They've been doing this for years now. They have zero consistency of effort. They're just gonna be another failure in the playoffs again...simply because of this lack of passion when they they think it's an easier game. Disturbing team mentality.

I was at the game and it was pretty fun! That Korpisalo save on Matthews was unreal and things got real fun in the third when the Leafs tied it on a beautiful pass but then Ottawa took the game from there! GG Toronto. Go Sens go!

That's now 34 goals allowed in 7 home games. Bad goaltending is partially to blame but the D zone coverage for the leafs is among the worst in the entire NHL, right there with Edmonton and San Jose. Treliving spending 4+ million on Klingberg hurts my soul.

@@guyh.4121 Leafs were a top 10 team defensively the last 2 seasons. Yes, the d core wasn't particularly great but team defense was pretty good. Leafs had alot of good defensive forwards in the bottom 6. Its the exact opposite now. People hated Holl but he's Norris caliber compared to a guy like Klingberg.

@@PraxisPeabody Doug Wilson our last GM leaving was a huge win for the sharks. That was better than a playoff win in itself. Getting another top 4 pick in the first 2 rounds will be also. I hope the sharks lose to the oilers actually because this is not the season where winning will matter. If I was the leafs GM, I would be thinking about trading for a defenseman or goalie and try to save the season. Both the leafs and oilers have some very hard choices to make and I do not envy the men who have to make them.

Some of the things I noticed in tonight's game: Klingberg on the ice for the majority of the goals against. Keefe will only put Reaves on the ice when the Leafs are either out of reach of a win or loss. Also Reaves trying to start a fight with less than a minute in the game and no one taking the bait. Woll's worst game thus far this season, but somehow still better than most of Samsanov's games. The on-ice product is so dysfunctional only second to the Oilers.

TRADE MATTHEWS and get some fresh legs; Matthews scores goals, can't check or backcheck and can't fight; not great for a big guy. He's no leader, and despite his 13 goals, the team is shite. TRADE NYLANDER and get some fresh legs; he's no leader either, and he can't fight or check. Some new players and a new outlook is needed; these core-four dudes are wimps and will never win a Cup. JT will continue to get knocked around in front of the net and do nothing about it; this wimp can't be traded.

Like I said in the previous game, The third line has some great chances and I think keeping jarncrok, domi, and robertson together is pretty good. The offensive chances for the leafs are their but I have to give it to ottawa they have great defensce and chycryn was a solid pickup for them last season and it's paying off for them. Can't blame woll he's still young and isn't ready for the #1 spot. Samsonov has to break out of the spelll he's in and I hope so soon. The big issue is that Defence needs to be better. Beniot played good filling in but can't say that for the rest. I know we've got lilegren and timmins off on injuries but we need to adjust the play to fix those holes Lastly.... Reaves is killing that 4th line... i think we need a switch up

It was a great game, the crazy thing is this is a terrible defensive group Ottawa is running rn. The plan tonight was just play the top guys for half the game and barely put the bottom pair on the ice. When Chabot, Zub and Brannstrom are playing its an elite defense, would be better if JBD played over Hamonic because Hamonic has been absolutely terrible but that won't happen. Leafs are still one of the best teams in the league, they just need to play better defensively and they will be fine. Samsonov will start playing better and Woll has been solid for the most part so far and we all know they can score.

Торонто слишком не сбалансированная команда с огромным разрывом между атакой и защитой, а вот у Оттавы и Ванкувера просматривается построение хороших крепких команд с хорошим игровым балансом, я думаю из Канадских команд в этом сезоне Ванкувер и Оттава имеют больше шансов на хорошие результаты по итогу года.

The Toronto media (especially TSN) drool over Matthews and endlessly go on about how many goals he may score this year. What they should be talking about is how many games the Leafs will win. Who cares about individual stats when the objective is to win games as a team. That said, and to be transparent, I love watching the Leafs lose.

Matthews had the moves and the goal but for a bit of height and a quick Korpisalo glove. Plus he always looks like he was on the left after the dutchie got passed. Canucks fan here, been watching- and hating- the Leafs for ever, but I'd sure love to see the Leafs hoist the Cup. Historically a contender, they're mired at 13 and maybe that's the problem. I'd love a Canucks Cup win, but right behind that is a desire for a Leaf's Cup year. The Sens were on it tonight, good game to them.

All of the Sens goals are within a few feet of the net. The Leafs have to improve their D Zone coverage; teams mostly play a zone in their end but everyone is all over the place watching the puck. Sens are open to move the puck around at will. Also, guys have to be smart about changing lines before they get caught being too tired. Establish the zone and dump the puck in so it’s a clean change. Damn this is frustrating and I’m not a fan of either team!

Ottawa, a young team , lots of energy and lots of mistakes in their own end. However the leafs are just plain bad to lose by 3 goals to the worst team in their division. Leafs now averaging 4 goals against per game at home. Their defense is terrible! Nice win Ottawa, your future is a lot brighter than the leafs.

@@melvynobrien6193nah man, honestly I feel that Tavares has been the worst one this year by far. He only has assists because he passes the puck to Nylander who does his magic. He's slow and have been losing puck battles left and right. The D is horrible though. I love JT but man, I hope he helps free some cap space so we can get good D next year. This year I'm not even sure we'll make it to the Playoffs lol

The whole play was gorgeous.. Domi backhand sauce, 2 on 1, aerial pass over the defenceman, the puck finally laid flat with not much room, and it wasn't a tap in at all, if you had eyes you would've seen more of a chopping motion, as a left shot on the left wing "Not an easy play for Robertson" according to the play by play. The play was a game tying goal after a long stretch of hockey with the leafs down 3-2, which put us back in the game. If we put Robertson on waivers, he would immediately get claimed, he's a tenacious, skilled, hard working player who has been great for us this year with his call up, and limited ice time. You're absolutely wrong. Thanks for your comment.

The leafs have the worst defence and goalie duo besides the sharks. Followed closely by the oilers. It’s actually pathetic how many goals they give up per game

Nah, it wasn't a good night for Woll as a whole but he's still fine. He made critical defenses throughout the game but you are right regarding the defensive system. It just looks plain bad.

Watch Tavares on that 5th goal,him and Joseph start skating at the exact same time,but it looks like Tavares gives up which gives the sens a 3 on 2,Joseph passes it,then starts from beside the net and still managed to fly by JT and get the primary assist lol

Man how is the D so bad. O coverage and back checking. We may not even see playoffs. This is terrible. Leafs and Oilers both have major problems in the back end.

Talk about leaving your goalie out to dry!! Even that last give away by Woll, where was the defense backing him up OR communicating that someone was on him! But that was really the ONLY goal that Woll 'gave away'. All others were complete defensive break-downs! Sad effort.

They really need to make some changes here. First is a coaching change. D needs to be repaired. The only way to do that is to trade core 4, which probably will be Willy, I'll be sad about that for sure. Mariner is the one I would trade though.

Unpopular opinion but I don’t think Woll is the answer either, he is good but not great, and he has let some weak goals in the last few games (not talking about the deflection in this game). A cup winner usually has a great goalie or someone who happens to play great that year. Honestly we don’t have it.

The Leafs doing what they can to make it difficult for themselves. Bad plays, bad goaltending. Only half the team shows up, the rest are mentally elsewhere. Mathews and Nylander have kept them afloat so far this season.
