Wow ! Wow! Wow ! Have you ever been blessed Alex! It appears, as if you have reached the very pinnacle of your career ; the fruits of your labor! When I see this in a person achieving so much success, I totally relate it to their parents. You were given a lot of creativity and leeway in your growing up years . I’m not a mentalist,but I am a mental health professional and when I see this, I definitely attribute it to how a person was raised. You have created a lot of enjoyment for your subscribers and a lot of success for the people you buy from and your family. Congratulations! Hats off to Alex !

Leo Lunde was the head coach for Finnish Icehockey league team Ilves in 1971-1972 and they won Finnish Icehockey championship that season. Later he was head coach for the Finnish International team and they came 4th in Icehockey World Championship in 1973. That's why he has those Finnish shirts and medals. He then returned to Edmonton Oilers as a player for one more season in '73-74.

At some point he was also in Sweden. Frölunda Göteborg is a team from Gothenburg on the west coast of Sweden. His hockey school was further north in Mora in Dalarna in Sweden. ICA is a grocery chain in Sweden, so they were a sponsor on one of the jackets. It's pronounced EEkah even though it looks like an acronym. BTW Suomi is pronounced suh-OH-mee. Three syllables.

Ingborg Lunde (Ingeborg) sounds very swedish to me ( from Denmark)
@ValleyOakPaper9 ай бұрын
@@gitteawwal5447 Yes, Ingeborg is a common Swedish woman's name. Lund is a common Swedish surname, but Lunde isn't. Then again you never know how mangled a name got when people emigrated to North America. 🤷🏼♀

That book is a Norwegian hymn book. Specifically, Landstad's church hymn book. It was used for a long time, and had a revision published in 1926. This revised version were the official hymn book until 1985. Landstad also wrote many hymns, though most of the hymns in his book were Danish or German hymns, with Norwegian lyrics.

Västra Frölunda is a hockeyteam in the Swedish league. "Mora" is a town in Sweden with a great hockeyteam, but not in the highest league called "Elitserien" (the elit league). If you have any question about Scandinavian words,teams or terms, just send me a mess and I will be more than glad to help.

You did this Edmonton boy good, Alex. What a history lesson about a kid who represented so many different teams/communities/people. I really appreciate you for how you teach us about history, even correcting yourself mid-video. Love that you weren't as concerned with the gold $$ as you were with the significance of the piece. Thanks from Vancouver!!!!!

I had a Ken doll whose arm fell off every time I played with it. His head as well. My Barbies ended up being played with by many a daycare kid and one day kens head went home in someone’s diaper bag. The parent had a good laugh and texted me a picture of it that evening when they came across it. I love watching you go thru all the Barbie stuff. I’ve been trying to track down some of the doll clothes my mom made in the eighties as I think most of mine ended up in an auction box (grampa was a big auction fan) and sold for a few bucks. Some day somewhere I’m sure something will turn up. I have a few things that were spared for some reason but the majority of my Barbies and accessories mysteriously disappeared. I still have my mothers old midge doll that she purchased in the year midge came out, so she could learn to sew her own Barbie clothes for her younger sisters. One thing I learned is that playing outside with an old hard plastic style barbie in a minus thirty Saskatchewan winter will ultimately result in the doll losing her toes. True story! Midge lost her red nail polish on the Tompkins school playground back in the early eighties. It was devastating to six year old me!

Hi Alex, Thank you for all the videos. Wanted to point out that the gadget is ot a "shoe sizer". It is used by garment makers, for marking the length of hem when making a skirt.

Good afternoon Alex, the brooch made in France, might be a Lea Stein piece. She made all kinds of funky brooch. They do sell well for good money. Take care.

Just an aside, what you called a shoe sizer is a skirt hemmer. It assured that the hem was even as you moved around the skirt with it. 😘

That Bay coat isn’t from the 50s fyi. The Hudson’s Bay tag on it up is more like circa late 70s/ early 80s. The tagging gun that produced that sticker tag wasn’t invented until the 70s. (Yes I used to work retail in the 80s 😂)

Alex, get in touch W/The Hockey Hall of Fame. I’m sure they’d love to get some of both the NHL & Intl Memorabilia. Perhaps even your local Sports Hall of Fame about the Edmonton Flyers things. I can’t believe the Family didn’t think of donating some/most of the Hockey Collection to the HHOF. That’s where they belong. Both Mom & I watched this in disbelief. I mean…Their Dad played w/how many Legands!?! I”d have been keeping that at least. Do not get it. Anyway…Please consider getting in touch W/the respective Halls & see if they want anything. They reallly are the places they should be going to. Take Care!!

I had a double take when the Finnish jersey's came on, so I had to google Len Lunde. Your pronounciation of ilves was close, you just also have to pronounce the E. It means lynx in Finnish, which is why it's their emblem. In Suomi you seemed to switch the u and the o for some reason. CCCP means the Soviet Union.
@ValleyOakPaper9 ай бұрын
Thanks for the translation of ilves! That explains why the logo looks like a lion with ear tufts. 😻

Wow.. I had a Chrissy Doll, but threw it out. I still have that Ken and that Malibu Barbie with the blonde hair… with her original bathing suit, and with some with some clothes…they’re both from the early 70’s, around 73.. I had a beach buggy, but it got destroyed, and I was so upset. I also still have an Angie doll or (they were like small versions of Barbie dolls)… I have some Flatsy Dolls and a little car for one, but missing the motor cycle for the other… seeing that stuff reminded me that I have those things in my closet
