As a goalie I've been in that detroit/minnesota position before. Your first thought is "Oh for f**ks sake and if you stop it you give the D the 'You're welcome' look and if they score on you you give them the 'Gee thanks idiots' look.

99codemister luckily it’s rarely happened to me twice in the same game... it’s has happened to me once in several games in succession before one of which was a back to back against the same team on two nights. They got a you guys f***ing suck look on that occasion 😛

In literally every game we play in phys Ed or anywhere I’m either goalie or D and I have been on both sides as a defender I just accept the goalies gonna kill me when we finish and as goalie yeah that’s what goes through your head though nothing feels worse then letting a shot in from some idiot at the blue line

@@pikkisful Not all of us are like that, but most goalies yeah. I don't see why a lot of goalies do that crap, at least have the balls to fight the guy face to face. Also teammates jumping in like in this Gibson example after Gibson was at a fault for the hit and even put his elbow up and leaned into it, is just ridiculous.

Odd that Steve would ever forget Vegas is part of The NHL. After all, the loss to The VGK was the straw that broke Babcock’s back, and opened that 55 gallon drum of worms on many coaches.

You should make a compilation about Marchand. A good one. And to all of u about to comment, he is actually one of the least constant dirty player. That's right, he hasn't got suspended or done anything dirty in a long time. Don't believe me, look up all the times he's gotten fined or suspended. Ya, it's been a while people. Now look at everyone else's records. Ya, they have a lot more dirty hits and fines and suspensions than Marchand does. stop hating on Marchand. He an amazing player and y'all jealous that he's not on ur team.

Those two plays are a pretty apt depiction of this season for Anaheim: John Gibson getting mad, and then his defense quite literally gifting goals against him to opponents. To make matters worse, they lost to the Devils, TWICE, and probably still aren't even going to pick inside the top 5.

Gibson was just protecting himself on the first one. the follow up is the real penalty. Tkachuk went right up to Price staring him down, he was going right at him. He was begging for it. And don't act like teams have't been defending goalies regardless of how it all started forever. In fact it's about time guys got back into this mentality, because I've noticed a drop in goalie defense in recent years. It doesn't matter what he did, he's your goalie.
