Also missed the off-the-ass goal by Jamie Benn. Wasn't the goalie's ass. It was his own, as he jumped to clear a shot lane and the puck clapped his cheeks, then clapped some twine

As a Flames fan the way Markstrom has played this season really gets my goat he went from one of the best goal keepers in the NHL to a goal tender who could not stay in his goal and lost it all for his team he has to go.

Vasilevsky LOVES to play the puck, it's his one weakness as a goalie. He's so ridiculously skilled that it's never majorly bitten him in the ass to the point that he had to learn to Stop Doing That, but any team that wants to get past Tampa in the playoffs *koff* is going to live or die on whether their goalie is better than Vasy at keeping his ass in the blue paint.

After the goal on Binnington by Hartman, while still on the PP, pretty much the same thing happen and Hartman gets an assist on the next goal. It was like 15 sec after the Blues gave up the 1st shorty. As a Blues fan it was both hilarious and embarrassing.

I think Steve was a little generous to Binnington... no, the breakaway was not his fault and never should have happened, but he'll beat Hartman 9 out of 10 times if he just stays in the net. The first one was pretty much his fault. The 2 on 0 a few seconds later however, was not Binnington's fault at all. I can't even fathom how you allow a 2 on 0 on the powerplay like that so quickly. Holy hell the Blues have been a mess this year.

It's funny, in the junior teams I played on and all throughout my hockey youth, 60's,70's goalies didn't come out like that, only when it was obvious that it was safe, they didn't roam back then as much, if I'm an NHL coach I'm putting a stop to that, even when the goalie gets the puck cleanly it ends up confusing your own Dman.

My honest opinion as a Flames fan is that Darryl Sutter should be fired. Not just because he's had 3 seasons here and missed the playoffs in 2 of them, not just because his defense-first scheme is outdated in a league trending towards a new live-puck era, not just because he (allegedly) alienated around half of his own locker room with his behavior, attitude and personnel decisions, but most relevant to this video, he has utterly failed to reign in Markstrom's roaming tendencies. He never once sat his overpaid goalie down and told him "stop leaving the net to play the puck, you're not good at it and it's costing us goals & wins"? Just on its own that's bad coaching and an inability to grasp his own team's skills (or lack thereof), and he needs to go. Coaches can go bad just like players can.

2:37 - I think part of it could be the Flames’ boards are really weird. I watched a couple of their games and saw some crazy bounces. That didn’t look like it was what caused the incident here, but it feels like a disproportionate amount of “if you’re a goaltender…”s by Markstrom happen at home so I may go back to watch previous episodes to see if my intuition checks out on that.

You missed a moment between the Rangers and the Blues where Artemi Panarin was skating around with the puck making fancy moves. He continued to do that instead of making a pass or SHOOTING IT, and it led to Alexei Toropchenko going on a breakaway, and scored. The Rangers lost in overtime...................TO THE BLUES! If Panarin wasn't too busy making so many moves, the Rangers would have EASILY won. Of course, the Rangers will still finish 3rd in the division despite winning tonight and being tied with the Devils if the Rangers won against the Blues, but still. That is a dang it.

Dang it: everyone, including Steve and the guy who got cut saying it was Nino Niederreiter who did the high sticking, but on the replay you can clearly see him react to getting hit when Brodin's stick goes into his face. Nino's stick is never anywhere close to his face
