HappyConsoleGamer that’s right. It’s Ni No Kuni Remastered on PS4 and PC but regular vanilla Ni No Kuni for Switch (aka a straight port of the PS3 original).

HappyConsoleGamer I’m torn as to buy it on switch or ps4. I definitely want to get it and I have a ps4 pro as well. I have the second one on ps4 but yet to play It.

@@andrewthompson1405 I played on the ps3 and it still looks great, if portability is important to you the switch version might be the way to go. If you want something cheaper if you wait a couple of months and you can buy it on the ps4 at a lower price, I bought the ni no kuni 2 on first hand 3 months after its release on the ps4 for half the price.

@Andrew Thompson Don't buy it on the Switch! It has glitches! There were problems with the port from the PS3. PS4 is definitely the way to go.

InnerRise the first also has the in game cutscenes too same as the sequel if I recall correctly, but on top of that it had the awesome animations for key story moments. One of many things that lots of care was put into to make this game something special.

Yeah. Bought it the day it came out, but didn't get around to beating until 2016. Loved it, but I'm happy with my Ps3 copy.

@@Jerrel28 I couldn't stand the combat AI of your party. Completely useless. Got up to the city where everyone was a pig and that tank boss kept killing the party because they couldn't be bothered to do shit without you controlling them so the battles devolved into frantically switching between everyone just to heal and not just stand around and get killed.

@@acidfruitloops It's too bad this isn't an actual remaster (with actual fixes), because there are some things like that that could really stand to be fixed. I still liked the game in spite of its flaws.

I'll probably buy it again, but not for $50. Will get it later when the price drops.

Ni No Kuni 2 is a fun charming game. The things I didn't like... it wasn't as magical as the first one. When you gain a level you just see a pop up. In first one at least you saw which stats went up. An other feature that should've been in there. Lets see the difference between the characters. It was a stepdown to me personally in that regard. I know a lot RPG don't show it either. But in a such game as this it could've been there. and again it wasn't as magical

Do you think so? I've only played Ni No Kuni 2. I am unsure if I should get this. The second one's storyline was dull and quite linear. The gameplay was good but the game did end before it started feeling a bit dry and monotonous. Furthermore, there were hardly any subplots for the side characters. It was a 7ish for me. What makes this decision harder is that its arguable that the 1st is better on Reddit. Idk what to choose :/

Yup. Im in this category. Especially cause I never beat the game. I got close, but then I got sidetracked with catching and leveling up the familiars. I think the game starts out great and gets repetitive about halfway through with the side quests. I dont know if I wanna put so much time into the game again. You can spend many hours finding all the familiars and leveling them up. I have so many good games to play right now. I want to play this again, but I don't know. I also never played part 2

In the midst of playing it, i was around 16 or 17 hours in, and my ps3 crashed. It no longer would read discs. So i would love to play this remaster:)

Meh................ I personally would much rather see Sony And Level 5 make a proper sequel to Rouge Galaxy as opposed to an HD Remake/Remaster! With the sequel picking up where that cliffhanger ending in the original Rouge Galaxy left off (Where the crew of the Dorgengoa are going back to Mariglenn for another mission)! Either that or showing the main protagonist of that game (Jaster Rouge) all grown up with his own pirate crew going on new adventures while continuing the story of the original! I want to see A Sequel to that game as opposed to just to play through the exact same game all over again on PS5 Or whatever future Playstation Console comes out! If anything! They ought to just release the original game as a downloadable game on Playstation Network for PS4 and PS5 as opposed to just re-release with it being the exact same game all over again! Or if you Matthew do want a remake or remaster! I would suggest they take the exact same approach as Kingdom Hearts Final Mix plus the latter versions of Street FIghter 2! If they do remake Rouge Galaxy! Add in new locations we haven't seen before! Add in New Boss Fights! New Alternate Costumes! New Party Members to accompany you on the quest! Throw in new side quest! Throw in new music tracks! Throw in new cutscenes! Don't just go and give Rouge Galaxy the Disney Live Action Remake treatment where it's the exact same thing all over again! Plus if your that nostalgic for the original game and just want to relive playing through Rouge Galaxy! Just replay the original game on PS2 Since it still holds up after all these years! Falcor Bux nice, have you played it now? It’s a treat. Zelda remake looks cool and dragon quest is great too, but (the first) ni no kuni just has something magical that’s really rare in a game. Not sure what creates that in certain games, I guess it’s really just how all aspects of it come together. And actually being transported into a well crafted fantasy land. The sequel was a disappointment but it doesn’t take away from this awesome game.

Eh I don’t know if I’d even call the sequel great. It lacked too much. Sure it had all the technical things that make an rpg, but nothing special and not enough care put into pretty much any aspect of it. Average at best.

ChronoMune yeah id have to agree. They focused more of the battle side of things as it was a problem with the first game. Not many people liked it, i personally did so idk why he fuss and because they focused so much on the battle side of things they lacked on the best part of NN1 which was the story. NN2 to me seems like an amazing battle dynasty warrior esque game with a lackluster story.

It's really a shame that it was an exclusive. I had a PS3 at the time and got to play it, but the game deserved a much broader release. An Xbox 360 and of release would have been great for sales.

I have NNK2 on PS4 as well. I bought it because I already played Rogue Galaxy and Dark Cloud ane beaten both games made by Level 5, so why not play another Level 5 JRPG, so I bought NNK2. Definitely buying NNK1 later on because I never had a PS3 and i'm playing a lot of PS4 remastered games and re released games that originally came out on PS3 that are out on PS4.

Nice job with the plat, I want to pick up Ni no kuni 2 but keep getting mixed reviews about it, will have to try it out myself. I played the first game and was a amazing experience I was close to getting the plat but was abit to hard for me wasn't really a plat hunter back then, I'm gonna try again on the ps4 remastered!

@@slash5235 Ni No Kuni 2 is one of my favourite games from the last few years. Highly recommend. I saw the mixed reviews but once you start playing it's highly addictive. The story and all the side quests are amazing. You'll enjoy it for sure.

This is probably the same reason why I liked FFX better on the PS2 than the remaster on the PS4.

I had the same reaction to the 4k & 1440p comparisons. It looks more sterile & videogamey, and the gameplay sections stick out in contrast to the animated scenes, which are lower res and at lower framerates (24 fps, I think). The older version looks a bit more filmic & consistent with the animated scenes.

Well even tho the 60fps is a good option, if you really want to see a difference in image, he shoulda shown the 4K option. 1440p is not impressive visually. Anyone used to 1080p will literally see no difference.

If I could I would get Ni no kuni because Zelda is pretty much same thing always except Breath of the wild and minish cap.

Hopefully the Switch version has some of the remastered versions anti-aliasing, I don't really prioritize 60fps when it comes to anime styled games so a stable 30 + some graphical fixes would be ideal if you ask me.

Xbox gamers tend to not play JRPGs, or even most Japanese games. That's why Japanese publishers don't support it as much.
