Nia Long Reveals Why She Doesn't Talks With Her Sister
Nia Long left the world shocked when she admitted that comedian, Sommore is actually her blood sister, and they’ve been hiding their relationship from the media. But it turns out that there’s actually a messy reason that Nia chooses not to talk about her sister, and it looks like the beef is not about to end anytime soon.
Yeah, I was pretty shocked when I found out that Nia Long, has a sister, and it’s nobody else than the comedian, Sommore because neither of them even acts like they’ve got a sister in the industry. It’s pretty wild to imagine the both of them just doing their thing in Hollywood while trying to keep their relationship a secret from the world.

There's no bad blood there, that sisterly bond was never established. Not all siblings are close. Even the ones who grew up in the same household aren't at times. They both have created their own successful path. So aye, keep prospering ladies.

False. They don’t talk because they don’t truly care for one another and have no emotions Al bonding or love. It’s like they respect each other because of their sister title but that’s all. They’re related but not family, share the same DNA but nothing more. They probably didn’t like each other personalities that well because black people will lie about their families. I don’t like my black relatives and their personalities so I knew not to play up in their faces as grown adults and I moved on with my life. There are family members who just truly don’t care about each other and it’s okay to admit that.

When family members turn their backs to a certain person, it’s because of something they did to that individual!! They feel guilty, so they come up with excuses !! (People usually love their family members, some family members end up addicts, and destroy the entire family, but their families don’t give up on them !! So someone who does absolutely nothing, to anyone gets cut off for no reason, it’s the family!!)

Nope, it wasn't just life. I know someone who found out at his father's funeral that he had 3 siblings in another state. Had no idea until they showed up for the funeral. The siblings weren't trying to create drama. They just wanted to pay their respects and they were also tired of hiding. My friend was able to build some kind of bond with one of them. Not brotherly, but at least friendly. All of this creeping around has consequences, especially for the children.

As an adult with siblings who grew up in different households, I understand where they are with their relationship. It’s hard to know someone as a sibling if you didn’t grow up together doing things same household siblings do. In situations like these, it’s up to the parents to help the kids when they’re young enough to make those bonds. By the time one reaches adulthood, it’s like the ship has sailed and the relationship and bonding isn’t as much of a priority. I don’t think it’s intentional on their part. It’s just a common albeit unfortunate outcome of their circumstances.

Yes, and a lot of times the parents who bring them into the world can't or won't support the kids really getting to know each other. A lot of pain gets transferred to the kids which divides them.

I can completely understand their lack of closeness. I have eight siblings. We were all separated as young children and placed into foster care. At the time, I was two yrs old. Though we had sibling visits, the bond faded away because we were all separately bounced from one home to the next. I got to one foster home, and the lady wanted to adopt myself and two of my sisters, but one sister didn't want to stay, and the other was far too out of control. When I was asked if I wanted to stay, I said YES! This lady adopted me at six and became my mother, the best mother! This was the BEST decision I ever made, knowing nothing about choices and impact at such a young age. Anyway, my sisters and I found each other when I was about 17 yrs old, but we were SOOOOO different that I could not form a sibling bond with them, though I really tried. I tried to help them in various ways over the years (financially, housing, raising their kids), but there was always drama no matter how kind I was, which further made me not want anything to do with them. Today, in my 30s, I have accepted that we are not siblings. We were born by the same people, but our parents are not the same, and we have many cultural differences. I don't know them aside from the negativity, and they don't know me aside from the rumors and stories they make up about me, and that's just not the energy I am willing to have in my life. So I wish them them the best, the ones that are still alive...

I feel you. I have three siblings on my mother's side (I'm close with two), & four on my father's side. My father was married to my mother, cheated on her, & created a child. Therefore, I didn't find out about my youngest sister until my father passed away (I was 18). I have a bond with my three half brothers, because my father made sure we knew each other. I tried to create a bond with my half sister, but it's obvious to me, that she doesn't want that. I took her to Puerto Rico for her birthday, & everything was fine. But afterwards, she stopped calling me. & was just acting funny towards me, so I'm okay with not being close to her. Who needs a person like that in their life? We're tied by blood, & nothing more. I do wish her well though. 🤷🏾‍♀️

Sorry, but sharing a parent doesn't make you family. Sadly, so many place emphasis on 'blood' and sometimes 'blood' relatives can treat you worse than complete strangers. Family is composed of love, honor and commitment. If any of this is missing, you don't have a famiIy member. I am sorry to hear this is the case between Nia Long and Sommore because I adore both ladies. @@CodyCole80 First of all Cody they have spoken to comedian Sommore off and on and she said herself that she had made many attempts in the past to meet and speak with her sister Nia Long. Lastly the reason why the relationship became this way is because of their father which is where all of this originally started. Lastly Sommore said that life is to short and she would love to meet and see her sister. She said that is a part of her that is missing. With that being said maybe you in your heartless and insensitive mindset wouldn't regret or miss someone because your a cold hearted person obviously. But she feels differently. And Nia Long said that she would be open to seeing her and getting to know her more. The thing is it just hasn't happened as of yet. With that being said I do hope and have faith that they meet before either one leaves this world, because again in instances like this there are regrets. There are millions of people out there who have regretted something that they wish they could and should have done. Who at some point in their lives hasn't had some kind or type of regret? A regret could be not taking a leap of faith on not taking a good job/career opportunity. We have all at some point had regrets, doubts, not feeling confident, etc. Our faith is tested all day and everyday. If you are person who hasn't been through or experienced any of those then that means that you haven't lived. You've lived physically but mentally, emotionally, and spiritually you are dead . I didn't grow up knowing my older sister on my dad's side but I feel like I have known her all my life. We grew up in different households and although we live in the same state, we only see eachother a couple times a year. I love her and we text and talk from time to time but we don't hang out or anything. I'm closer to my sisters on my mom's side.

Not surprised, I have two sisters I don't talk to either. So envious and competitive, also trying to dim my light and look down on me. I know my worth, not looking for validation anymore. I am loved by God and the universe. Calling in my soul tribe, Love me or leave me alone.

What will be wild is, if one day, they get cast in the same movie- that would be fate, bringing them together; if they accepted the roles, of course.
