This is why I love hockey. Didn't like the hit. Called out. Accepted the fight. Threw'em. Eye contact in the box, "Good job". End of the issue.

Good on Dowd to step up, eysimmont took his medicine and Dowd shows him respect in the box. This is why fighting is a big part

If Eyssimont wants to deliver hard checks, then he has to answer the bell at times. I think it was a clean hit (and so did the NHL), but I respect Dowd’s response here.

The hit was clean, was reviewed by everyone. Jensen took an awkward fall into the boards. There is a time & place to drop the gloves, and that's up to the team. Did the Rags go after Pelech when Zibanejad ran into his shoulder when they faced each other again 2 days later? Nope.

I like fighting but it’s pretty stupid that you need to fight after delivering a clean hit. Why not force players to drop the gloves after nice goals? It’s just as arbitrary…but that will be lost on most mouth breathers.

Linesperson.......?! maybe what is needed is a guided tour by that announcer of the referee and team locker rooms to show the tampon dispensers that have been installed where the skate sharpener used to be and how that gives a whole new flow (pun intended) to the look of the room.
