Hiya Chris, some of the Scania’s came through with no passenger door control units due to lack of parts which means the lock,window and heated mirrors on n/s don’t work, I work for a Scania dealer and only now are we getting the control units to retrofit to certain vehicles, the control units also have to be programmed to the vehicle using the the vehicle encryption codes.

The story about your dad with the mince pies had me in stitches with laughter. Oh the old famous words “this job shouldn’t take long” 🤔😂 Hours work but 4 hours later still at it in darkness😂 You definitely provide entertainment on here. Bloody good show 👍

Gotta be careful with saving, knew a guy that worked 7 days a week and all the overtime he could get. Only bought basic range or whoopsies and reused tea bags 3 or 4 times and only wore his work clothes. Bank balance was very healthy. Died of a heart attack mid 50s and next of kin was his brother who he hated!

I love the mince pie story ....very typical of their age and good on them. My mum used to say "there's a lot of rich people in the graveyard" and she had very little but worked tirelessly to give me a better life .....which I thank her for everyday in my thoughts ...🙏 When you look at some of the youth today who are the most self entitled people , who don't want to work , need a 2 hr sleep break for a mornings work !! 🙄😜😜😜 The size of those batteries on the Scania !!! My dad always went everywhere with a flask,sausage rolls and a packet of cakes in his bag. And we would take the piss flat out about him and his woman’s shopping bag with his supplies in !! 😂😂 but I tell you what many a time late at night or on a shit wet day laid under a lorry we was grateful for that bag of grub and flask of tea 😂😂😂

I know abit late. But it’s definitely a common thing on XT passenger windows. My company has a 71 plate 8x4 XT tipper and it’s exactly the same the passenger window isn’t fitted with anything to make it go down

Hi Chris, on the last ones we bought, they came without radios, electric mirrors, no motor in passenger side window, due to shortage of microchips, they all been done mow, things got fitted when they went infor inspection,

You are probably correct about the window missing a part ..I know DAF have had the same issues

Chris has the Scalia got a little glass window looking in to passenger footwell? Our Volvo grabs have same issue reason is that window cannot be able to go down or it will hit glass below its so the driver can see more when turning left etc mate. All our grabs have the buttons etc fir the passenger window but just doesn’t work because of that little glass window in way. I’ll take a pic tomorrow at work to show you pal

Scania are apparently having a world parts problem. Due to a shortage of chips that they fit with everything these days. A fire last year at a Chinese factory didn't help. Where they make parts for all kinds of automotive industry. My old man buys a fish from the chippy two miles from his house then goes home and cooks his own chips. Just buy the chips then your not dicking about. A different generation these old guys. I'm like you chris. Spend it then if I die the government can't get it. 👍👍
