This however, just feels cheap and poorly directed/thought out, like The Room. (For example everything has that terrible bleachedness/washed out look in the daytime/light)

To be honest I never understood the hate. Sure, it's mostly shallow action movies, but this can be said about alot of movies and they are still alot of fun. Face/Off, Con Air, The Rock, Gone in 60 Seconds. I enjoyed all of them, but then again, I was a teenager at the time.
