It's been 25 years that I've been searching for author of this fantastic composition, a search based only on my memories from that time and finally on this day, January 2th 2021 I managed to spot the composition on You Tube!! It was within the The Earth Views series, listed as "views No 3". Can't believe I did it after so long!! I was introduced to this remarkable composition first time back in 1995 I think, it was german broadcaster Bayern fernsehen who aired Space Night series, every single night, and each night an episode started by launching Apollo with this cataclismic composition as a soundtrack. That stuck in my head although never been aware of who the author is and what was the name of the song etc. So I find myself in a 25 year long search which on this day ended! Halelujah! PS: of course I did other things in life too lol.

I had the same thing happen with Boney M's By the Rivers of Babylon. I heard once in the 70's and for 20 years looked for song. Then one day in Köln I was walking passed a record shop and they where playing By the Rivers of Babylon. I went in and bought the CD and became a fan Boney M

@@shawndorisian1857 Gratulations! Btw you at least had some lyrics so you should have found it easier than me. I had only music in my brain so I directed my search based on my instincts and the type of the music remembered. I did re-listening of discography of the bands like Tangerine Dream (not suggested to anyone as they have like 80+ albums lol) or Mike Oldfield as I thought it might be the type of music I was looking for. Not succesfull. It turned out it was someone I've never heard of.
