Never been a huge fan of Nicholson until he started doing commentary. He’s actually a really down to earth guy. Hope he gets his game back and gets into the top 32 again. He’s been looking pretty good on that Darts home league.

Remember him saying this was the first tournament he used the black darts - what a way to debut them. Now if you can put up the Nicholson-King final, that'll be very nice.
@thommobris2 жыл бұрын
Prior to this match, I hated Nicholson from his TV debut in 2008 but his performance here against Taylor made me a fan of his, remember being at a superleague darts away match & 1 of the visiting players (who was so massive a Taylor fan that he used the EXACT same darts setup as the Power 🙄) tried using this game which was broadcast live at same time as inspiration during his match (like his idol, he lost 😝)

Roaring Lion if he stopped commentating and focused more on playing he would be there. I seem to have a feeling that if he beat burness at the world championship a couple years back he’d be in the top 64 and would still have his tour card. He chose not to go to a school and has barely played since I swear

Darts at this level is a mental exercise, some players can deal with it without thinking too hard like Steve Beaton hence their longevity, it is too much for others like Nicholson who had and still has the talent but self destructed. I hope he can make it back but the game is moving on with more strength in depth.
@Altoseb2 жыл бұрын
You’re quite right. It’s an odd choice for someone like Nicholson who suffers from anxiety to adopt such a divisive persona. I know he wanted to be different, but it shows a lack of foresight that ultimately playing the villain would take its toll eventually. It’s good that he’s matured into a nice guy and a very good commentator.

When I see it that way, I sit there with a laughing and a crying eye. On the one hand it's funny because it reminds me of the good "old" days of darts. It was just so much fun back then, with Paul Nicholson, Mark Webster, Phil Taylor, Terry Jenkins, Robert Thornton and so many others. On the other hand, it makes me sad, because these beautiful, "old" days of darts are unfortunately over. With these players who came later, for example Price, Wright, van Gerwen, darts became much more disrespectful and arrogant. Sometimes I wish I could turn back time, if only for a moment. Paul Nicholson, Adrian Lewis and Dave Chisnall were (still are) my favorite dart players then.

31:29 35:32 The commentators are actually wrong here Taylor did change his stems in the break, but it was only a cosmetic change He replaced silver titanium stems with black titanium stems So the change didn't actually alter the ballistic properties of the dart
