The trick I've found with the trigger is to hit the lock button first, then squeeze the trigger. If you squeeze the trigger first, it is putting pressure on the lock making it harder to disengage and not a smooth actuation. Once you train your brain and muscle memory it becomes second nature whether you are spreading polish at slow speed with the progressive trigger, or going straight to full speed and locking it in.

@@perfectshave85 The beauty of the cordless machine is you can rotate it almost 360 degrees on a 2D plane. The tool is obviously very mobile. You'd be hard pressed to find a scenario where you'd get into trouble, or couldn't just use the HLR75 in its place. I've never had a 15 or 21" polisher that conquered all awkward positions, so I'm just not seeing it, but appreciate your viewpoint.

I guess they make two kinda lf hlr15's. Mine stalls alot and spees 6 only way to compound. But after battery is at 50% you cant use speed 6 and soon after that speed 5 drops off too. Also the batterly placement sucks. Hlr21 is quite powerfull but hlr15 is weaker than mk1.

I would contact RUPES to see if your machine is malfunctioning.

Mine is the exact same. Stalls so easily. I use the mk3 on the exact same area and no stalling. So disappointed with this, especially after spending so much money.

Exact same stalling issues with my machine. Very weak and absolutely useless for any professional. it is not a defect. it is weak by design. You are not doing a real paint correction and this review is not a good representation of how a polisher should work.

@@DrCeramicDallas wish more people would talk about this. I feel like I spent $800USD for nothing. At most I can use it for light polishes or to do the roof of a vehicle. Otherwise it will stall.

@@DrCeramicDallas 21 hiowever is a beast. ALso shinemate 15 is good and 21 is beast. their top torque is better than milwaukee. if you want more details i can tell.. i have had them all. sold milwaukees and now have hlr15/21 and shinemate 15/21
