I finally met my sworn enemy today. But as it turns out, he may be a friend. When Salt Bae reached out and said he was in Boston, I had to go face him in person. Click to watch...

Most places like this are, particularly during the week. They come alive in the evenings. Friday and the weekend. That's when they make their money and this has to cover the fact they are empty, sitting around just in case, for the rest of the week. It's quite fun and a little freaky, to turn up when they are empty and have the whole place and staff to yourself.😂

I worked at this location. It was dead everyday I worked. The entire place is a scam. They have servers pour by default Voss bottled water without letting the guest know it’s $10 a bottle, so by the time the check comes you’ve payed upwards to $50 just in water. The management harasses you into selling gold steaks. Put it into perspective adding gold to a steak can cost upwards to an extra 3-$400 depending on cut. The actual gold sheets costs $10 on Amazon. The management and rest of the staff are incredibly rude and toxic to their employees. They also cater to clientele that is social media obsessed and looking for clout, so the guests you’re waiting on are just mind numbingly shallow that are just on their phones the entire time taking selfies and taking pics and videos of their food. Top it all off, majority of the guests would barely tip 10% because they didn’t realize how expensive the bill was and was just trying to get a cool shot for their Instagram. The food is excellent, don’t get me wrong, but you are getting robbed for the price. Put it lightly, this was the worst restaurant I’ve ever worked in. I put my notice in after 2 weeks, the shortest time I’ve ever worked at any place. I’m so glad it pushed me out of the industry forever and into an office job. I’m so much happier.

that’s the restaurant business in a nutshell. no one is being forced to eat out, people clearly enjoy it hence why he has been this successful
@Ty-wf6mg
@Ty-wf6mg 2 жыл бұрын
@@weaver3636 That’s the worst part, staff didn’t even make decent wages. It was a pool house for everyone including runners and bussers. On a Saturday night maybe half the seats would be filled because it was just never that busy. So you could have a decent section and sales, but the bar would be dead and another servers section only had a few tables it would offset your night. I remember the most I ever made on a night was $150 for an 8 hour shift. You could easily make that at an Applebees, not a steakhouse where the average PPA is $250.

@@coolerplays3477 you prolly got cheap stuff pal. 22.4 karate+ gold is edible. That doesn't taste absolutely like anything. Now you can be like hypersensitive towards taste or have different gene mutations to differ from the average. But anecdotes don't surpass statistical evidence.

I think it’s all fair. Salt Bae is definitely running BS pricing built on hype and that’s not changing. But as long as the food isn’t disgusting and service follows, no one is forced to eat there, no need to constantly bash the guy. Enjoyed the video!

I am not going to lie: Salt Bae has skills as a meat pro and I don't dispute his expertise in meat dishes. The main beef we have (pun intended btw) against him is because of his ego, overpriced food combined with underpaid staff, including his ego fees, erh sorry, marketing-covering dine-in fees, which are blatantly ridiculous. I am not saying he's not a nice guy, as even nice guys can have bloated egos. And no, covering the meat in gold leaves doesn't add any real value to the meat. I can buy those online for as little as $10 a package. If I wanted texture differences in my meat, I would just go for breading and deep frying the meat instead of the gold leaves bs.
