I was a PJ on the #1 NKP Jolly that picked up the A-8 pilot. Everything went smooth as glass until we exited the area and were gaining altitude. That's when the triple A came up and the remaining Sandys lit up those guns in a major way. I was hanging out the back ramp, hosing the spot where it was coming up from with my minigun. A very good double pick up. Thanks Sandy pilots for covering our butts ! Got a photo of our 4 chopper liftoff at Da Nang.

George I am so glad you made this comment, have you heard that the Air Force Museum in Dayton Ohio will be unveiling a SAR Search And Rescue Exhibit this spring (This is the note I got from my SPAD contacts) This is the opening of the “SAR in SEA” display at the Air Force Museum (NMUSAF) in Dayton, OH. We were just recently informed that it is scheduled for June 2, 2023. We do not know the time of day or any additional details currently. When the museum personnel return from holidays, we hope to get additional details so we can begin detailed planning. We assume other groups such as the Jolly Greens, Ravens, FACs, other Pilots, and interested people will plan on attending. I will be there, hope you can possibly attend and we could meet

I worked in the base hospital at Hill AFB Utah in the early 80's, and I remember the "Red Man" Clevinger. He was flying F-16's then.

Appearances can be deceiving. Viewing these two men with the sound off one migt ask..'Who are these guys?'..the sound comes on and folks realize 'So, these are what warriors and heroes really look and sound like'.....the 'real cool' dudes..

CBUs would arm themselves through centrifugal force by spinning in the air. This "prevented" premature explosion and self destruction of plane and pilot.
