The kids all had multiple sets of costumes, but according to Abby Hagyard, she only got slimed once because she only had one set of clothes and getting slimed set the production schedule back as they had to wait for the cloths to be cleaned and dried before continuing. Also, a bunch of the kids wouldn't be in every segment, so there'd be some time for clean up while waiting for those other segments.

I feel like the person who wrote this sketch was an actual fan of You Can't Do That On Television. There's the tragic outfits, Cecily Strong clearly dressed up as Moose, the legit history of them trying to perfect the slime formula in the early years, and the fact that there was an actual episode about adoption that got banned in 1988 for being too offensive. This sketch is pretty on point.

@@only1moore The episode that's always amazed me that it made it to air is the Nutrition episode from 1981. In it, the principal of the school has been caught doing something wrong (they never say what) and Lisa "Motormouth" Ruddy is sent to the principal's office to talk to him. The teacher said that the principal having to listen to her blabber on would be the closest thing to "sheer hell" that they could punish him with. Later, Lisa returns to the classroom to announce that the principal committed suicide due to her incessant talking. She continues to blabber in the classroom, so the teacher and all the students pull guns out of their desks to shoot themselves. Then they decide it would be easier to just shoot the source of their misery and turn their guns on Lisa instead. Growing up with this show is the reason why my sense of humor is so dark.

I've been rewatching the episodes that were uploaded here recently. It's a shame that there was never a DVD set and I don't think it's ever received a legitimate home with any of the streaming services. Sadly, that's the case with nearly all the Nickelodeon stuff from their early days up until sometime in the '90s. Some of it has been getting re-released in recent years, but a lot hasn't and probably won't be at this point, Much of it is horribly offensive by modern standards or is simply of little interest to people that aren't old enough to have watched it when it was new.
