Yeah, except this time the lyrics in the sketch had nothing to do with the original Les Mis lyrics. Of the 5 musical sketches this is the only one that seemed to me like it was written the night before... as if John said "we should do something set in the subway," so they built the set & then John did nothing, which is how they ended up with this concept: irrelevant & not particularly clever. "Subway churros" aren't a thing I've seen, & I ride the NYC subway every day.
@cherrynbo
@cherrynbo 2 жыл бұрын
@@sparklemotion101ni3 i agree i feel like the musical sketches kinda drifted from the original intent of the diner lobster one. they were never as entertaining as the first one was because les mis is just that one iconic musical and after that they tried to use well known songs from different musicals but it wasnt the same.

@@frecklesandwine B&H is owned and run by Hasidic Jews and many wear the traditional hair and hats - like the Fiddler on the Roof dancers in the sketch. It's actually a really cool store to visit because it sells all of the latest high-end technology, and there are conveyor belts up above shuttling products around for shipping, but it's all contrasted with the employees' fairly old-school traditional style. It's very distinctive, so people who know B&H got the joke. Everyone else probably whooshed on it.

+devikwolf Meh. I used to ride the train every day (I stopped in January of 2020 because I read the whole NYT, not just the sections that cover news in the US, so in January I knew that the shit was soon to hit the fan in NYC (I bought a few boxes of n95s for each of my brothers & parents ... not that they wore those masks; instead of thanks for getting valuable masks I heard whining about how it's so hard to breathe while wearing them... which was interesting to me because in my experience what's really hard is (A) trying to breathe in the moments before the ICU's medical staff uses Propofal - or Diprivan - to knock you into a medically induced coma. This can be painful, especially when - as a patient - you realize you can't speak because of the tube down your throat! Later, "if" (or - if you're lucky - "when" the medical staff decide you can safely breathe without help & they remove the tube so you can try to breathe on your own) you'll experience many sleepless nights because it's hard to sleep without extra help if you've gotten used to used to sleeping 24/7 with the help of crazy-powerful narcotics! So, after the ventilator & breathing tube are removed from your body you should expect about a week without regular night-time sleeping; this won't be your fault and there's not much you can do about this. If the physicians give you more medication at night to try to help you sleep it will only prolong the adjustment period & you'll spend even longer than expected remaining up all night & feeling woozy & dizzy during daylight hours... instead it's best to sleep *only* at night (if possible); to stay fully awake during daylight (while avoiding driving & anything else that requires you to be fully alert); and to do everything you can to sleep @ night & to be both awake & active at night (when - under normal circumstances - you'd be either fully sleeping or sleepy/in the process of falling asleep). Basically, you need to avoid daytime napping even if you're really tired, since getting back into the habit of being tired & falling asleep (without help falling asleep from sleep-aids like medication or even a cocktail; when the sun is going down, your body needs to understand (without outside help) that it's time for your breathing to begin its gentle process of slowing down & for you to begin to fall asleep (a process that includes your whole body slowing down & gives you a chance to get enough rest for you to function for the entire next day! So, I hope that you accomplish the goal of sleeping (soundly!) for at least 8 uninterrupted hours

If you have any questions, I'll help explain! B&H Photo is an photo, computer, etc. equipment store whose owner and most of the employees are Hasidic Jews. Midtown is genuinely the absolute worst part of the city, it's a pity Bway is there. Trains run on random lines in NYC on random days (or they don't run at all) due to repairs or scheduled track maintenance or whatever the eff reason the MTA wants to give. The F train running on the Q track is absurd and yet very possible. Churros on subways are a pretty regular sight, although I've never had the pleasure of eating one on the choo-choo ride home. Sleep No More is an immersive theatrical experience that retells Shakespeare, I think mostly Macbeth? And it runs at a certain hotel I think, it's very campy. NY Islanders are a hockey team but from Long Island - where I am from, but we were always ALWAYS a Rangers house.
